Alla Famiglia has been delighting local and traveled guests in this very same location for over two decades. This "diamond in the rough" is conveniently located on the hilltop of Pittsburgh's South Side. Boasting a fine dining atmosphere, its family owned and operated, and promises to deliver a consistent product with every visit. You will be greeted and treated like family, as you enjoy homemade scratch Italian specialties, an award winning wine list, and complex scratch cocktails. Dine in an old world atmosphere under paddle fans, exposed brick, antiquities from all around the world. Six unique and interestingly decorated dining rooms comprises the character of this institution which started with just 8 tables, 25 years ago. Choose from daily provisioned fishes and exotics from the sea, dry and wet aged Prime beef, tender milk fed veal, and homemade maccheroni are just some of the choices you will have to select from. Crown the evening with our pastries prepared on site.

We had heard this was the best Italian restaurant in pgh/western pa. Our expectations going in were high based on what friends family and random folks said. The place/food/service exceeded those expectations. 6 of us went for a family dinner and all 6 of us had a great time and loved everything about it. Highly recommend. Thanks

One of the very best restaurants in Pittsburgh. Love coming here...Food is usually top notch! The food was excellent and server was extremely nice but she was a bit overwhelmed with responsibility/tables which does happen here sometimes when they have events here and are bit overextended. Service was so slow (3.5 hours) and drinks not followed up on, water or cocktails that we quit ordering drinks and even coffee toward the end since we did not want to wait 1/2 hour to get things at that point...Will still return as this was not usual for them.

Don't miss out on this gem of an Italian restaurant, which provides a very special dining experience! Such includes some tableside final dish prep., just like occurs in Italy! The food is phenomenal, and portions are truly generous, authentic, Italian, and everyone on the team works together to create a seamless and extremely pleasurable meal experience. Can't wait to return!

We were greeted by a very knowledgeable and friendly server (Daniel) who was patient explaining all of our options based on our desire. An extensive wine list! The food was excellent! Fresh bread with their signature dipping oil was delicious! We split their fabulous meatball appetizer and recommend the house salad; the dressing is amazing! We enjoyed the chicken parm and chicken sausage peppers piazzas. Wait staff is very attentive. Dessert was a carrot cheesecake! Yum! The meal is 3 courses so go hungry and find this hidden gem! Uber, $8 valet is available or plan to find street parking. No meter charge after 6pm.
