Alobar Yorkville is tucked along a pathway in Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood. It puts its foot forward as a cocktail bar, but it is a full-fledged Michelin recommended à la carte restaurant, offering choice seafood with the finest accoutrements, fish and chops off of the charcoal grill, and world-class wines, all served with genuine hospitality. Alobar Yorkville boasts a comfortable courtyard patio merging warm skies with ice cold cocktails during the summer.

Alobar Yorkville's menu pairs french cooking techniques with international ingredients and prime steak and proteins cooked on our charcoal grill.

The staff are very friendly. It is a small restaurant with limited seating. Timing of food was perfect and that’s because the server was excellent. The apps were great. The truffle pasta lacked flavour. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, however it was over salted (we love our salt, but even this was too much for us). Banana cream pie was decadent. Great staff, but wish the mains were better.

Went for Valentine’s Day and it was amazing. Didn’t feel like the skimped out on portions cause it was a prix fixe menu. Probably one of the better meals I’ve had in my life. We did wine pairings too, it was awesome. Highly recommend.

The first time I have to pay the entire meal and the tip (20% with no chance to change it) before even entering the place (what if I didn’t like the service?). People should be free to decide the tip based on the service received (to note: 2 people party). A bit surprising and disappointing from a place of this level. The food was good but I was expecting more from a Michelin star restaurant. The appetizers were very very good. Pasta was ok: pasta itself great, truffle had no taste. Meat was ruined as it was too greasy (too much butter?), a pity as it was cooked very well. Music was in my view not adequate for san valentine (rock?!). Service was good.

Started with beef carpaccio, which I thought was really good. Then we had lobster and red snapper (both $85). They were both boring, underwhelming and small in portions. Their wine program is severely lacking in depth and choice - both their by-the-glass list and their cellar. I asked about their corkage fee; $80 which I think is highly excessive when they’ve put so little effort into their wine program. Our previous visit had been very good, but I don’t think we’ll be back there for a while.

Good food and great service. A bit loud and very small so if you get there early it's a pretty tight fit. Otherwise, a great evening.

Food and service was great. Background music was very loud more suitable to a club than restaurant and the music itself was not good. Very difficult to converse which was a shame as the overall restaurant is very relaxing and food and service was great. Staff are very accommodating and knowledgeable

An outstanding classic. Truly can’t go wrong here. Service is warm, knowledgeable and punctual. Beverages are unique. Wine list is very intentional - matching the energy of the restaurant. Food is approachable while also showcasing complexities. Flavour alone will make you want to come back. Environment is upbeat, but not overwhelming. Always a banger.
