   Reserved a table for today November 10th 2024 at AltaVida and drove an hour there for it to be permanently closed. They need to update the status of it no longer being open at all… waste of time & not a satisfied loyal customer to this app

   We had a reservation on Open Table, got there and it was closed. Tried calling and no one answered the phone.

   Showed up for our reservation and the place wasn’t even open. Went to the Italian place next door and had a great night

   Beautiful brunch experience! From the engaging details of PUBLICO that were thoughtfully designed on the 1st floor space to the cozy “red glass room” which created a fun ambiance. The Latin American brunch menu which my church friend, Jan ordered a delicious double crab cake benedict with perfectly cooked poached eggs and a drizzle of hollandaise sauce complimented with roasted potatoes. I thoroughly enjoyed my order of the El Americano — eggs made to order (chose perfectly scrambled eggs), with 3 meats of sliced ham, maple bacon and chorizo sausage link along with those great roasted potatoes. Yum!!! Will definitely be back to try the dinner menu. Also service was very attentive by manager, Sandra, because we arrived for a late brunch at 1:30pm-2pm so there was just a few other tables. I think it was so new only 3 months open that this place — AltaVida! is a best kept secret because they haven’t done any advertising or promotion that they’re open for weekend brunch yet.

   Surprised by their very exotic menu. Love the service and recommendations of Andrea our waitress. The tapas were amazingly tasty. We also experienced Rumba as a complementary pass to enjoy Live salsa band, great classy ambience, highly recommended.

   Wow! First time there. Booked the Red room, which is basically a glass enclosed private room for two in the middle of the restaurant. Given the layout of the narrow restaurant, it seemed out of place. Let me just state out the gate, the staff was very friendly and pleasant. After being seated, it took about 15 - 20 minutes before someone came to take our drink order. Our first dish order was placed and came out before we got our drinks. Because we were in the separate room (in the middle of the restaurant), we felt like were were an afterthought. Service was slow from then on. They did not give us new plates or silverware after each dish, we had to ask for it The food was mediocre at best and overall it was flavorless and overpriced. We likely won't be back. It's a shame because the space has potential.

   Service was lacking. We had to keep asking where items were (drinks, food, desert). The drinks were very weak. I had to order doubles and even then they were not poured correctly. Their restaurant was half empty and even though the waitress was nice, there was no attention to us to what I would expect a restaurant charging their prices. They never even came to refill our water glasses. Upstairs there were like 7 people working behind the bar but had to waive someone down to serve us more weak drinks. Also the restaurant is a Latino restaurant so that’s what you would expect from the music, but there were hardly any Latino/Spanish songs played at the club upstairs. Not worth the trip.

   No ice! Took a long time to get drinks. They couldn’t find the tequila, according to the server. The place only had one other table and someone at the bar. I don’t know if short-staffed was the problem because no one was there. I felt bad for the waitress. Not sure I saw a manager or anyone acting managerially. The food was good and the place is pretty but the place seems badly run. Too bad. Great location.

   We were 4 friends trying out the PUBLICO Sunday Brunch menu and it was fabulous! Two of us had the Latin-American spin of croque madam with pork belly & ham with 2 perfectly cooked sunny side eggs and a side of roasted cubed potatoes. And the other two friends had the El Americano eggs any way with ham, sausage links & bacon with the same roasted cubed potatoes. It was all so beautifully presented and as delicious as it looked! We’ll be back for this again because there were soo many dishes we wanted to try. AltaVida’s Publico on the first floor is the best Latin fare with an American twist that’s elevated and we’re soo lucky to have it in downtown Naperville! There busiest evenings is Friday DJ night & Saturday Salsa Night on the 2nd flr Rumba, so being a new restaurant I suggest you try their new Fall hours after 4pm and the Sunday Brunch to try their amazing modern Latin menu in the beautiful ambiance.

    Good and ambiance are great. Naperville needs more Latin restaurants. However it took more than 35 minutes to seat us for a 7:30 reservation. In their defense, we were offered other areas (outside and by the band), but that’s not what I booked.
