We opened on Valentine’s Day in 1953 in downtown Clinton, NY, and we’ve been sharing our love of good food and drink as a community gathering place ever since. John and Laura Alteri opened the doors and managed the restaurant until John’s death in 1960. We rebuilt after a fire in 1963, and the tradition was carried on by John’s son and daughter-in-law, Fernando “Feet” and Beverly, until 1998. Today, third-generation owner Fran Alteri manages his family’s warm, home-styled restaurant and seasoned bar, bringing people together with classic food, beer, wine and spirits. Share a table with your friends or family for casual dining and try our famous pizza, pasta, sandwiches, soup and more, or just find a stool at the bar and we can chat over one of our many craft beers.

Nice local Italian restaurant and bar. Very traditional (70 years old) and homey. Good food and friendly service. Only open Thursday through Saturday.

Server was always hard to find. Took very long for order to be taken or anything to be delivered. Was wrong when it came. Pizza-pasta took 90 min from order to delivery. Sad what this once great institution has become

Truly a gem in the heart of the Village of Clinton where every patron is treated like family from the moment they walk in the door. I highly recommend the antipasto and pizza with a side of everything wings!

Alteri's has the very best pizza. Ask for thin and crispy and you can't go wrong. Great antipasto's and generally a great vibe! Enjoy!
