   Outdoor tables were filthy from recent blowing ash, so we sad indoors. Comfortable booth, however quite noisy. Very nice server, but a glass of wine was terribly slow coming out because the bar was out of wine glasses, and then the Chardonnay was warm. Food gets mixed reviews - two dishes were terrible, and the other two were just OK. Way more garlic than needed! Cheesecake was excellent, and is made in-house.

   Everything about this location was amazing. From the moment we walked to the hostess, the waitress, the food , the manager came by our table to check on us and basically say hello. It has a great vibe with live music.

   First time to Alza. We heard good things about it. Outside looks inviting and where we wanted to sit, due to the positive outdoor reviews, but it was too cold. The heaters are more for decor and not for warmth. Inside is simple, nothing fancy. Felt almost like a sports bar/restaurant Was expecting a bit of a fancier atmosphere & was almost going to leave, but thought we’d give it a try. We like supporting small family businesses. We were seated at a booth. No linens or silverware. Not too long after the waiter came up (was very nice) ordered drinks & appetizers. We brought a bottle to open but decided not to with their $20 uncorking fee. Drinks were good (old fashion was the best), house Pinot Noir was good (would definitely get it again) & appetizers were good. Unfortunately, we had to ask for our silverware and then again for small plates to share our appetizers. The lamb chops were fantastic that also came with some nice light greens. The sausage roll was also really good. Would order both again. My son asked if he can add spinach to the sausage roll and the waiter said no, they are all premade. We then asked if table bread is offered, which I thought it was strange that we had to ask at an Italian restaurant, and it wasn’t offered. If the bread is like this all the time, I’d pass on the wasted calories. It was not even warm, not impressed. We all enjoyed our meals (lasagna, chicken Marsala, ribeye & and penne dish). Price was around $230.00. So not to bad four 4 people. (3 appetizers, 1 salad, 6 drinks, & 4 entrees). The drinks & appetizers were on Happy Hour. 1 drink was comp cause he forgot about it. So technically only paid for 5 drinks. Now that we know what to expect, we would definitely go back again when it’s a bit warmer to enjoy the patio. Just not a choice for a nicer occasion.

   Took 2 hours for dinner. They forgot to put in one of the meals. The drinks took a long time and it didn’t seem like a full restaurant. Maybe it was short staffed. At least the food was good.
