   An absolute gem. I'm quite surprised to find this in Wake Forest. As I am from the midwest, I somewhat expected an independent place like this to claim 'authentic Italian food' but only serve Olive Garden style fare. I was a bit skeptical. Not the case at all - the place had the real feel of Italy to it. Very authentic dishes and care and attention to the craft. We were served by Gaetano, the owner. He was very enthusiastic about his food. We enjoyed the special Grenache made by his family in Sardinia, the Pappardelle Cinghale, Lamb Chops, and the veal chop. Amazing. And the owner brought us some of his special limoncello - delightful. Would absolutely dine here again. Great place, food, and service.

   As usual, the food was sublime, the service impeccable, and the overall experience on a par with the finest restaurants we’ve frequented in NY, Chicago, LA, SF, and Vegas. That it’s found in Wake Forest and is accessible makes it special. Gaetano provides great recommendations and has lots of anecdotal stories about origins of the cuisine from Italy as well as the best pairings for your wine selections. Well worth a visit!

   The atmosphere is nice and quaint. Out service was very good, and all of the staff was equally as good. The food was good., not great. But I feel both my dish (the risotto) and the special steak were both over seasoned. Additionally I feel the cost of the meal was too high compared to the food (no sides are served and the special was $75). Not sure I’ll be willing to pay for that in the future.

   The Boar Ragu was fantastic. I didn’t care for the gnocchi, but that could have been me. The tiramisu was delicious. Our waiter, Gaetano (sp?), was perfect. Explained the offerings in detail and made good specific recommendations. I’ll be taking guests back there again. The portions were, however, too large. In some cases significantly. In the case of the gnocchi appetizer it could have comfortably fed six people.

   Amazing!!!! Highly recommend if you are looking for a fancy night out to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, etc.

   One of the best experiences. Since I’m Italian and cook a lot of Italian food at home I never really venture into an Italian restaurant. However, Amalias was everything I expected. It was authentic, delicious, and the service was impeccable. I think I found my new favorite spot.

    Our overall experience was amazing. The food, the ambiance, the service, attention to detail was excellent. The only concern I have is getting seated by a table with kids. Did not like the baby crying and kids going back and forth. Otherwise, everything else was amazing. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and there was a table with two kids and a baby. Not quite or romantic at all. We spent a lot of money.
