The current menu gave great a great option for the vegetarian (Hen of the Woods Mushroom). The escalvida was amazing, strongly recommend that as an appetizer. I really enjoyed the carcamusa (pork shoulder and chorizo). Chef Greg did an outstanding job as did our server John!

Our food was delicious! The staff was very gracious…we highly recommend this restaurant if staying downtown Milwaukee. The food is classic comfort food with elevated flavor. Chef is creative and clearly puts a lot of thought into the flavor profile of his dishes. The wines we chose turned out to be excellent as well.

We really enjoyed our experience at Amilinda on a Recent Thursday evening. We dined with another couple and oddly enough, each couple ended up ordering the same items and similar beverages so it was easy to split the tab right down the middle. We started with the Pear and Omoro cheese salad that was scrumptious. It also contained beets, slivered radishes and a poppy seed aioli dressing and was served over crusty grilled bread. The gentlemen ordered the Carcamusa which was a very generous portion of braised pork shoulder and chorizo. It was served with a potato purée and was topped with crispy fried onions. The ladies each ordered the skirt steak. The steak was served with a delicious sweet potato purée and piparra salsa verde. We realized when we started cutting into our steak that we were not asked how we wanted them cooked. The plates contained 3 small medallions that were medium rare/rare. It was impossible to cut the meat with our dinner knives. Luckily our starters were served with serrated knives to cut through the grilled bread so we were able to use them to cut off the edges of the medallions that were a bit more done. We both ended up sending the meat back to have it cooked more in hopes that it would be easier to cut and chew. Our returned skirt steak was cooked a bit more and was a bit easier to cut but it was still very chewy. The flavor and seasonings were awesome.
