   I'm sorry you felt that way Max. We always do our best to engage with our guests, however we are also conscious of being overly engaging for solo diners who may not want too much of our story.    Had an absolutely amazing night. I went with my partner to celebrate an anniversary. We went into this experience looking for a once in a lifetime experience and we got it. My only issue after experiencing Attica, is that all I can think about is going back in the future and trying it all again. Genuinely completely satisfied by all aspects of the experience. The service was impeccable, friendly staff were always available within seconds of even thinking of something to ask. Our table was assigned to a lovely waitress named Bridget, she was incredibly helpful in all aspects throughout the night. At the end of the night I had an issue with my card and while comedic in hindsight I was completely mortified at the time. Bridget was so lovely however and a nice reminder that behind this amazing experience is a bunch of passionate humans doing what they love and serving in an environment where they can shine. I'm so grateful to all the staff who made our evening perfect in every way. We each had the sample menu and my partner had the wine tasting. With communication prior to the date about my partners allergies, they were able to offer us the same amazing experience with different dishes. Every course was like an art exhibit, with a very well informed member of staff explaining every element of the dishes. The sommeliers were all incredibly experienced, informed and visibly passionate about the wines served, giving personal stories of the vineyards and producers of the wines as they served them. I could spend hours talking about the food as we will likely remember each dish for many many years to come, however I don't want to spoil anything for anyone looking to try. All I can say is that every meal was perfect in its timing, presentation, flavour, texture and pairing. I was able to try so many foods I never had and I'm so glad I did. Overall highly recommend, Attica is pricier than other table d'hote places in Melbourne but is 100% worth it for the experience.

   Overall: a very good experience as we can expect from a gourmet restaurant, however this is in our experience of fine-dining way too expensive. Food: some courses were excellent, some others were less interesting to our paletes: to much sauce on the main meat skewer, one plate with ants but tasteless apart from this. The wine pairing will certainly be excellent for people used to young wines, however for us (French, used to aged wines) it was not good. It is to be noted that we had only one red wine among 6 or 7 in total. Apart from this, the drinks menu was huge and for sure you will find good things! Service: most of the staff were friendly, except one or two acting like "robots" (neutral face, monotonic voice). For foreigners, despite being fluent, it was sometimes difficult to catch the course explanation due to the noise level in the room associated with the staff talking low and fast (we fortunately received the menu at the end of the dinner). Ambience: very good, especially the pub experience. Value: 1300 AUD for two including wine pairing. From our previous gastronomic dinners, similar experiences were generally around 300 to 400 AUD for two. Given the price, I told my wife when we arrived to the restaurant "it might be the best restaurant you have ever tried", finally it was a very good restaurant but clearly not the one we will remember.

While I'm pleased to read that you enjoyed the experience overall, I'm sorry you felt it wasn't worth the value, the ingredients we use are endemic and very rare and I'm sorry if this wasn't reflected clearly. Indeed it seems the overall feedback suggests a few things were not to your liking in particular but I'm very sorry we weren't able to share more of the story behind the choices we've made for the food and wine pairings here.
