   We had made the reservation at Aujourdhui which I like because of the terrific view and comfort, and then were reassigned to Coterie without any advance notice. That was not what I wanted.

   It was a sad event for me given that it was 48 hours prior to the closing of Aujourd 'hui, one of Boston's finest restaurants. And given that it was my final meal there, everything went as I had experienced in previous visits. As always, the service was impeccable. Of course, the meal was outstanding, all three courses. The wild salmon was succulent. The crab salad was flavorful. And the chocolate souffle was as good as I have ever had. A fine Boston institution has come to an end. Your culinary delights will be missed. Au revoir Aujourd 'hui.

   The restaurant is closed for dinner by now but even that it was thair last weekend when we dined there it would not be excused for "whatever-you-order-is-fine" waiter. He didn't care and gave not any personal recomendation. Even if he did not like any food or is unhappy that they are closing he should add some personal touche. My halibut was toatlly overcooked and I did order it undercook. Food was very fair, not as should be for this level of the restaurant.

   The decor was nice, the food was OK, the waiter was excellent.......there weren't many choices for meals and worst off not many side dishes to complete a meal such as potatoe, vegetables etc....

   Best dining room in Boston, regretfully it closes June 27, 2009 due to economic conditions. That is a real loss as it is not only the best brunch in the entire town, the ambience, setting and service are lst class. It's definately a real loss to the dining scene in Boston for those who appreciated excellent service and excellent food.

    It is sad to see this gem close. I am glad I was able to get there one last time. I would love to know where the chef will go.
