Opened in the summer of 2010 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn by Motoko Watanabe and Shaul Margulies, House of Small Wonder (HOSW) soon became a popular place for breakfast, lunch and all day brunch and pastries. The new location in Berlin reopened in July 2021 and is located on the quiet Auguststraße. It has a very similar warm atmosphere, lots of wood, lots of plants. The culinary concept follows the footsteps of its Brooklyn café and has numerous Japanese influences: comfort food with organic, local ingredients, freshly prepared with Japanese flavours whenever possible. Homemade bread, croissants and pastries are all freshly baked throughout the day.

    Food was creative, excellent quality, portion rather sizeable, perfect to share. Seabass was well cooked and tasty, popcorn shrimps nice but abit heavy, potato mochi good. Chicken tsukune was surprising and innovative. Eggplant had a strong soybean taste. Mackerel sushi had too much rice ratio. Carbonara udon super tasty with parmesan flavor, interesting okonomiyaki. Service was efficient and professional

    Amazing Environment and friendly Service. Unfortunately no bread, just a kind of cereal cake instead what was really strange and not really good tasting.
