   Brought my daughter to Bar George for brunch and had a great time. The food, service, and ambience was great! She had the pain du perdu and i had the waffle and shared an order of sausages. Just delicious! Next time we are in Montreal we will have brunch here again!

   Bar George feels like stepping into a cozy, storybook setting. The atmosphere is intimate and charming, and we were excited for our evening. With reservations in place, we were seated in the back dining room, which was nearly empty save for one other table and two servers. At first, the service was attentive—though it was easy to expect this given how quiet the space was. We started with the steak tartare, which was incredible. We ordered the larger portion, which came with fries on the side, and it was a perfect combination. We also requested bread with butter, but our server forgot to put the order in. Initially, we tried to get his attention to remind him, but it proved surprisingly difficult. However, as we enjoyed the steak tartare and fries, we found ourselves thankful for the oversight, as the generous portions were already filling. The drinks were another highlight. I had the holiday eggnog cocktail (unfortunately, I can’t recall the exact name), but it was delicious and perfectly festive. As the evening progressed, the service started to decline noticeably. No one checked on us after the initial order. When servers came to refill our water, I asked to place a dessert order, but they claimed they were only refilling water and would pass the message to our server. They didn’t. We ended up waiting 15–20 minutes before I had to flag someone down myself. By then, a few more tables had filled the dining room, but the room was far from busy, and with two servers and extra staff for refills, it shouldn’t have been a struggle. Finally, we ordered the chocolate buckwheat dessert. I had high hopes for it, but unfortunately, it tasted overwhelmingly of plastic. It reminded me of drinking water from a new plastic bottle before it’s been rinsed. The aftertaste lingered unpleasantly, and it was a disappointing end to an otherwise great meal. When we were ready to leave, it took another 15 mins just to wait for the check. Over all 3/5.

   We went to Bar George to celebrate our 40th anniversary. The restaurant was classy and comfortable and the service was excellent. It worth paying the price. We had beet salad. beef wellington and haddock. They were very delicious. We ordered Fleur Kalamansi as dessert but we also got monochrome free for our anniversary. Thanks! Toth desserts are very good but we liked Fleur Kalamansi more.

   Service is superb. Food was excellent. It’s pricey but when it’s that good it’s worth it. In the restaurant or in the bar, you will not regret the experience.

   I stop my choice to celebrate my birthday in this beautiful restaurant. It reminds me Paris, but the service was horrible, the worse I ever experienced in a good restaurant. I had a booking so I arrived on time and was waiting to have my seat around 20 min, even when other guests arrived. When I asked to put glover in a vase, I was told they don’t do it and after a while brought a vase. Overall I didn’t feel welcomed, stuff was walking around and acting super busy for anything we asked. After the dinner I asked if they have a birthday discount as my friend suggested, I was answered by a surprised face of a waiter but got a bill with a free dessert. The ambience and restaurant is magnificent, it’s a pleasure to be there, full of art. Perfect place for a date. Food was no impression, stuff requires better training and management. Good luck to the owner !

   Ah, le Bar George ! Une excellente adresse au centre-ville de Montréal. On s'y sent choyé par d'infinis détails. Toujours un plaisir d'y retourner pour prolonger encore une fois les magnifiques qualités déployées à cette adresse.

   Beautiful historic spot for Sunday brunch. Great service from beginning to end. Lobster omelette and avocado toast (vegan version) were big hits. Potatoes accompanying omelette were a bit flimsy. Do they use frozen potatoes? Did not ruin an otherwise great afternoon.

    A wonderful dinner in a magnificent dining room. A bit unfortunate that the music volume was pumped up around 8pm - probably for the bar, but ruined the fine dining experience a bit!
