Bar Primi is a pasta shop devoted to ‘primi piatti,’ the pasta course. What began as an idea for a small space in New York’s East Village has since become a downtown New York staple, housed on the Bowery for the last ten years. With this second location in Penn District, chef-partner Andrew Carmellini will carry on his same tried and true methods of making fresh pasta traditionally prepared and cooked to order, using a variety of non-GMO semolina and specialty ‘00’ flours, organic eggs and family recipes. Italian wines are offered by the glass and by the bottle. A playful list of signature cocktails, which includes the original Frosé, aperitivi, a robust beer list, amari and coffee by La Colombe are also features.

    I had dinner there for my second time. I have always been a huge fan of Bar Primi on the Bowery and the new location does not disappoint. The setting is amazing and the food is incredible! Some of the best pasta you will ever have.

    Too expensive, portions tiny, too loud, had to order entire order at once. The neighborhood needs this place and it is taking advantage of the clientele.

    The food and atmosphere were all great! I just thought if I am paying $40 for a fish dish, it should come with something- anything!!! Otherwise a lovely evening!

    Our waiter was fantastic. We had an allergy at the table and he went above and beyond to accommodate it. The food was fantastic, a great option before a game/show at MSG.

    Enjoyed a great dinner at Bar Primi before catching a show at MSG on 11/21. Pappardelle, Bucatini, Fusilli were all great. Vesuvius scampi also excellent but very spicy so be ready for that. Definitely recommend getting the broccolini and hot knots- so good! Service was exceptional 10/10. Took off one star for unprofessional hostess.

    Waitress did not attend our table in a timely manner. Spent a lot of time waiting for them to come over so we can place our orders and ask for additional service. Drinks also took a long time
