    Always a great experience. We tried the sweetbreads and tuna appetizers, the duck and bass entrees, all from the new menu. All were excellent and you can’t ask for better service.

    Peter Kelly 's new venture with Basso created a new type of Sunday brunch. Unlike the brunch at X2O, all the dishes were brought to the table one after another as a server placed a portion on each one's plate. There was no fixed pre-fix to choose from, just an assortment of dishes being brought to the table. And what a plentiful assortment. The greens salad and caesar salads were very fresh. The many different pasta dishes were all deliciously prepared and all perfectly al dente. The braised pork and polenta was tender and flavorful. The steak was seared nicely so that different people at the table could have their choice of rare or medium rare or medium. The salmon was a nice medium rare and moist. The disappointments were the chicken parm which was overdone and dry. The stuffed clams were bland and chewy. The service was very attentive and the staff was very friendly and explained all the dishes being served. It was an experience of surprise dishes, although I would have preferred to see a listing of dishes to be served for brunch in a placard on the table, so everyone would know how many dishes to expect and when the end is near to prepare for the dessert plates brought to the table.

    We had a great experience at Basso on Saturday night. Our reservation was for 8 and we arrived a few minutes before and the place was hopping. The hostess apologized and said it would be another 20 minutes. We didn’t mind as we sat at the bar and enjoyed delicious cocktails (Prosecco w raspberry for my husband/tequila w grapefruit and lime juices for me). We were enjoying chatting with another couple at the bar who had arrived moments before us, so when a table for 4 became available (45 minutes later) we all agreed it would be fun to dine together. We shared the crispy calamari with thin strips of zucchini - delicious- and two of us had the branzino which was delicate and flavorful; my husband had “colossal” shrimp scampi with risotto and our friend had the veal chop. Everyone loved their dishes, the ambiance and we had a nice visit with Peter Kelly and we are wishing him much success here. So even though we were seated later than our reservation it turned out nicely as we made new friends! It’s nice to feel like you are getting value for what you are spending and we certainly did. We can’t wait to return and introduce more of our friends to this gem in Chappaqua.

    The food is excellent and it is nice that Peter Kelly comes by the table to make sure everything was good. I highly recommend Basso 56!

    Basso by Peter Kelly did not disappoint. We are big fans of PXK and so pleased (and lucky) to have him in our village. Imagine, we can now walk to a restaurant where we can enjoy the magic of a world acclaimed chef. With Chef Kelly, try something on the menu that you would normally not order. Try something new. Everything is made with the finest ingredients. Steaks, seafood, appetizers, specials, deserts, it's really heaven for a foodie. Highly recommended and it won't break the bank.

    Lovely local Chappaqua establishment. Warm hospitality and ambiance. Nicely spaced tables. Great menu and specials and a well paired wine list, both by the glass and bottle. Service was very attentive and hospitable and the tables were nicely set. It’s a welcome addition to the local landscape and it’s open on Mondays!

    The food was delicious and the service offered was excellent. The waiters and everyone working there, were very friendly, polite and welcoming. Best place to go.
