Beeside Balcony is a hidden gem in La Jolla Village, CA with a relaxed seaside chic décor where guests enjoy global mediterranean cuisine and ocean views from interior and the balcony. A third generation chef of Spanish and Italian descent, and hailing form Paris, France, Christophe's restaurant career began at 17 in the kitchen of his father's restaurant in Pasadena when they first emigrated to the USA. Upon returning to southern California in 2011, Christophe spent 8 years as the managing partner of Eddie V's Prime Seafood in La Jolla. Here he deepened his knowledge of sourcing and cooking the freshest seafood available, while delivering world class service. The laid back coastal vibe of La Jolla, combined with the attention to detail from Christophe's fine dining background, infuses Beeside Balcony with an easy elegance that elevates any gathering, and makes the perfect backdrop to showcase his global mediterranean menu. We were greeted right away and get seated even though our group is not complete yet. Food was awesome, we loved everything we ordered and service was superb. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Ambiance was great too, we dined inside since it’s a little bit chilly at night. Highly recommend this place for any celebrations/occasions. Love to come back someday 👍

Service, food, ambiance, views…. Beeside Balcony has it all. Apps to try include Trio of Dips and Octopus Ceviche. Enjoy the Fjord Salmon as an entree. Drank and loved the Brady Petite Sirah and the Finca Museum Tempranillo.Oh, and the desserts…. The churros are creamy inside and crunchy outside. Yum!

Honestly, last night was supposed to be a chill night however, this is the second time I’ve been here and I will say that the service is lackluster. I’ve experienced the same waiter twice and the waitress that I experienced prior to that was also not welcoming and or knowledgeable about the menu and seem hurried and rushed. Last night was no exception the gentleman that I encountered was definitely Rushed and seemed either inexperienced and or didn’t want to be bothered with acting like a true hostess/waiter. I had to tell the person that I was with based upon a previous experience that the waiter was not going to be like normal waiters and sure enough he didn’t disappoint. I think they need to do a better job of training that person in particular and or hiring all new staff that want to cater to the clients and not act as if a room of six people is something that is grandiose especially on a Wednesday night.

Took my husband for his birthday. We had the dip trio as an appetizer, and really liked the toasted pita and flavor of the different dips. Our main dishes were the salmon and the lamb chop. The salmon was cooked perfect but the flavor was overpowered by thyme, which gave it an off flavor overall. I wasn’t quite sure if it was the fish at first, but I believe it was just the thyme. One of the lamb chops was a bit under. The flavor was great. For dessert we had the creme brûlée and it was not good. It was cold, no crunch to the sugar and tasted off. Smelling it, it was burnt with a bit of gas smell to it. We decided not to eat it. Service was friendly but slow. They didn’t clear the plates for the longest time, didn’t refill water or checked in. Ambience was quiet but definitely more casual and was lacking warmth and comfort. The food was more upscale and I don’t think mixed well with the ambiance. Overall a bit underwhelming and not a spot I’d choose again for special occasions. Parking can get a bit tricky and you might have to park a few streets over and walk.

Had a wonderful dinner. Great service! Came here for appetizers a while back and decided to try their dinner. It didn't disappoint. Before we left upon using the restroom My wife discovered that there's a speakeasy in the back. We will be back to check that out.

Grilled oysters and drinks really good. My husband had the pesto linguini shrimp a lot of shrimp, but smothered in sauce with little linguini. My son had the steak and asked for medium rare, it was rare to raw, I had the salmon, which was cooked well, but it was bland, no seasoning in the salmon, broccoli purée and couscous. Very disappointing for what we paid for everything.

We’ve eaten at Beeside many times. The experience is always good. This time the food was terrible. The food was so over seasoned with salt we didn’t finish a large portion of each plate. Please tell the chef to stop using so much Salt!
