   Totally disappointed! The worst dining experience ever on Open Table. I made a 7:30 reservation for 7 people. We arrived at 7:20 and were told there was at least a one to one and a half-hour wait, even with our reservation. Management blamed the issue on third-party bookings, like Open Table. They claimed that they aren't told about the daily bookings until the morning of. Our party included 2 children and my wife, who was still recovering from knee replacement surgery. The manager sat us at an empty booth to wait for our table. We ordered some appetizers and water while we waited. Nothing was comped. The manager said that the long waits were normal. His upper management routinely overbooks his Boca Raton location by about 25 to 30%, to offset no-shows, even though this location has never experienced more than 7 to 8% no-shows. The manager was as helpful as he could possibly be, but corporate needs to take a serious look at its booking practices. In addition, the restaurant needs to fix their ventilation system. We all left, reeking from the smell. Everything we wore made an emergency trip to the cleaners the next day. NEVER AGAIN. Rob G.

   Tables were very delayed. I’ve been there the last 3 years, usually they have too few chefs. This year too few tables. Delay was an hour. Why take so many reservations when every Xmas day is a mess? The servers and chef great. But the delays are just unacceptable. I asked for a discount on drinks as we had to wait at bar and they said no. Disappointing.

   Never again. Reservation was at 6 PM. Arrived at 5:55 PM and told they are running behind about 30 minutes because 'corporate' forces them to overbook. At 7 PM when they said there is still a wait, we left. What a waste of time and horrible experience

   Reservation was for 5:45. Was not seated until6:45. Server was making the fried rice when there was a hair in the food. Had to start over. I will not be returning. Very expensive to have to this experience.

   We frequent Japanese restaurants and have been to Benihana many times. We had a presentation but waited 45 minutes. The good news is that our server was awesome.

   I have to start by saying that writing this review was really tough for me. For years, Benihana has been our Christmas Eve tradition, but after this visit, we may need to start a new one. We arrived at 8:00 p.m. for our 8:15 p.m. reservation, only to be told they were running behind. No problem, we said, and decided to go to the bar for a drink while we waited. Unfortunately, this is where things started to go downhill. At the bar, I waited about 30 minutes to get served. The bartender told me she would be right with us, but instead, we watched as she served a few other guests who arrived after us, all while running around the restaurant. When she finally approached us, I mentioned that we'd been waiting and noticed she served others ahead of us. Her response was less than friendly, and I could tell she was annoyed by my comment. The family sitting next to us also noticed the delay, which made the situation even more awkward. After finally getting our drinks, we waited until 9:30 p.m. to be seated, well over an hour after our reservation time. By then, the kids were miserable from the long wait, and the excitement of our Christmas Eve dinner was completely overshadowed by the frustration. We spent over $700 that night, but unfortunately, it turned into an experience the kids will remember for all the wrong reasons. As much as we’ve loved Benihana in the past, we may need to consider making other plans for future Christmas Eves. This visit was truly disappointing.

   This is our second Christmas at this location. Unfortunately, this year it was disappointing. The chef was not a Beni Hana chef, no tricks and just cooked food. We had two kids at our table and they constantly looked at the other chef who did the tricks and it was a lot of fun at that other table. Also, there was an hour wait, even with a reservation that I made a month in advance. The level of noise was high. Impossible to hear each other. The level of smoke and smells was as if we were sitting in the kitchen. All of our clothes needed to go to dry cleaning after this visit. Overall, very disappoiting experience :(

    The prices keep going up and the quality keeps going down. The noise level was horrible, not from the patrons, but from the design of the fans.
