   It was exceptionally quiet which was good for us, we took my mum out for Valentines because it was the first since dad passed and he always made a fuss of mum on Valentines so being quiet was good for us, the food was great even though it was a set meal for Valentine, the service was excellent and very good value, we would definitely recommend trying x

   The hotel was so cold that half our party kept their coats on while eating, even the fire in the main room was unlit. Half the main menu was unavailable so we chose off the bar menu. The fish & chips were overcooked. The evening was saved by the young man who was on duty, fetching us a heater, cheerful, chatty and as efficient as he could be in a hotel and restaurant that needs new management and urgent investment.

   I came out for my birthday meal to be told they hadn't received the booking and had no chefs on, very disappointed but will be coming back to try dining here as the lodge looked very nice.

   food great priced hood service the staff could not do enough to help and give advice i would recomend to anyone that value for money service and food excellent

   Our meal was enjoyable but a little pricey - the braised beef we had was spot on , as it's christmas there were numerous groups having parties but we were never made to feel left out. We were there to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary and as it is the week before Christmas day it it can be difficult to get the right venue . We made the right choice.

   The restaurant was cold. There were no other diners ; the food took a long time to arrive, but was very good. Only one item on the menu that I liked and it was very expensive

   Booked for mothers day through your booking system - got the restaurant for my mothers mothers day treat only to find that they were not even servicing food that evening and dint have our booking. Staff didn't seem at all bothered so we wont be attempting to go again - which is a shame as we live in walking distance.

   Restaurant completely lacked atmosphere. It was empty! Food and staff were great though. I would recommend the hotel but advise people to eat elsewhere. The empty restaurant was an uncomfortable experience.

    This restaurant seems to be trying hard but still has a fair way to go in terms of food and service. My creme brulee had a soft top.
