Dine on fresh sustainably-sourced seafood, wild game meats and more at Big Fish & Open Range, located in Calgary. Its casual setting and inviting atmosphere is ideal for grabbing a bite to eat with friends or family.

Big Fish offers food such as a seafood chowder, smoked oyster sliders or chili-glazed frog legs that make for flavorful appetizers. Guests can feast on an entrée of pan-roasted walleye with wilted spinach, fish tacos topped with tomato-mango salsa or a lamb and lobster burger. An oyster bar as well as delicious house-made desserts are also available.

Open Range embodies the essence of our city; cutting edge, but comfortable and unpretentious. Open Range mixes modern with tradition, serving every cut you would expect but preparing them with interesting variations of flavours. We offer locally raised beef, elk, bison and game prepared in an easy going Southwestern style. We are one of Calgary's premier steakhouses with multiple awards and accolades.

We ordered two appetizers, two main courses, and a dessert. Our bill came to $140, which is quite expensive considering the overall ambiance of the restaurant. It’s quite small and lacks any interior design. The food was good, but the service could have been better. After we finished our appetizer, a toasted baguette with crab dip, we noticed that bread crumbs were left on our table. Despite the servers passing by our table multiple times, no one bothered to clean it. Even after I took a cloth napkin and tried to clean the table myself, moving all the crumbs to the side, no one came to our aid. To make matters worse, after we ordered a dessert, the waitress brought a clean dessert spoon and placed it directly on top of the remaining bread crumbs. We were shocked and disappointed by this careless mistake.

we came for a Valentines dinner with friends. Our server was excellent. We had a lot of laughs. The food was excellent. The only thing was I requested to switch my potatoes for rice or risotto and I ended up with potatoes. They were still delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

Such a lovely restaurant with a wide variety of dishes. We got the wings, frog legs, duck, elk and bison and each dish had such rich flavors. The service was great and our meals came promptly. We can't wait to go back! I highly recommend this spot to EVERYONE!

The food was amazing. For drinks we got coffee, a blackberry porter and a house made lemonade. We started with fresh oysters; they were delicious and came with 3 tasty sauces. I got the bison short ribs. The server catered to my dietary restrictions professionally and were very knowledgeable about the menu items. The table also got the walleye, the pistachio crusted arctic char and the stuffed chicken. Everyone loved their meals. The server was friendly and there was a man helping that was super funny and kind. We will absolutely be back.
