One of Houston’s original restaurants, Birraporetti’s opened in 1974 with the slogan “A great Italian Restaurant…A heck of an Irish bar.” For almost 40 years, Birraporetti’s has been the place to gather on a date, celebrating with friends and family, for happy hour or before or after the theater.
We are noted for our award-winning stone oven pizzas, pastas such as lobster ravioli, & delicious main courses including hand-carved beef filet & fresh seafood. And don't leave without trying our signature Frozen Bellini’s, Irish Coffee, chocolate chip cheesecake, tiramisu, or the berries & cream.
Located in the heart of the Theater District. Steps away from the Alley Theater, Jones Hall, Hobby Center, Wortham, Houston Ballet, Bayou Music Center, Sundance Cinema & a few blocks from Toyota Center and Minute Maid Park.
Open late seven days a week. Join us for Sunday live Jazz Brunch Buffet, Live Music Mondays, or to enjoy our lunch menu for downtown business clients.

Birraporetti's is almost - no, is, an iconic eatery in the Houston theater district. They've been around for a long time, and survived a lot, even COVID. Their location right in the middle of the Wortham, the Alley, and Jones, makes them the perfect before-show place to dine. We had reservations at 6pm Friday, before we were going to the Nutcracker at 7:30. They were SUPER busy. We were seated right away, and our drink and appetizer orders were taken almost immediately. The appetizer - bruschetta - came out pretty quickly - and really is the best bruschetta I've had. The bread was soft, the shaved parmesan and garlic just right, with delicious tomatoes, olive oil topping the whole thing off. Did take a while to get our drinks, but our waiter kept checking in and pushing things along, so that was understandable given how busy they were. I had their old-fashioned, and my wife had the lemon drop. Both drinks made to perfection, no stinting on the alcohol - very satisfying. We both had Caesar side salads with our meals, and when the salads came out, they were good, but not really out of the ordinary. Took a while, again, to get our entrees, and actually here is where they were not at their best. I had the shrimp scampi. While the shrimp were plenty big, the dish itself was not very flavorful - the shrimp or the linguini. I'm used to more of a punch of flavor from my scampi. Not bad, but I expected better. My wife got the fettucini alfredo with grilled chicken. The alfredo and pasta was pretty good, but surprisingly, the chicken was quite dry. Still ok to eat, but surprising. The atmosphere in Birraporetti's is always good - what a great energy, families with their daughters dressed up for the ballet, young couples, old couples, people dressed to the nines, people dressed casually - a great hot spot. Overall, I give them 4 stars, and will continue to frequent their establishment in the future.

A wonderful restaurant--the best we experienced on this trip. It feels homey and was decorated to the nine's for Christmas. The service was fantastic, the food was amazing, the drinks were amazing, the staff was wonderful. If I lived in Houston, I'd be eating here all the time!

This restaurant is our "go to" for nights before the theater. We have gone for at least 6-7 years in a row now. We always enjoyed the Christmas decorations, the food and live music. This year was a big disappointment! No live music, Terrible service and the food was just so. We had very early reservations (5:00pm) so the place was not terrible busy, however, we sat for a half hour waiting to get a glass of wine! They need more servers! The place has gone down. So sad! We returned after the theater for dessert and coffee. The dessert was very good and presentation was lovely, however, the cappucino was NOT hot (barely warm). On a good note, the decorations are gorgeous and the atmosphere is lovely.
