   The food was delicious, as usual, but why do you ask if the booking is for a special occasion? I booked on-line and said the lunch would be a birthday treat, so I was expecting some sort of acknowledgement, but none was forthcoming, so that was a little disappointing!

   Early dinner. We started with cocktails which were very good. The steaks were perfectly cooked medium rare (the Côte de boeuf was excellent). The sticky toffee pudding was one of the best I had for a long time. Very good service. The wine list needs a bit improvement ( the Rioja went down well with the steaks).

   We were asked where we wanted to be sitted and I asked for the booth. Service was great and food came out quickly. We had steak and it was cooked wonderfully. It was expensive but it is London and I did expect to pay. Great atmosphere. Would visit again

   Overall, everything was fine and pleasant , not particularly remarkable although I will say the portion of green beans was good compared to most other restaurants but the sirloin steak was a little tough but tasted ok. Price was also fair compared to other restaurants.

   My friend came to town from the wild north and I'm not terribly mobile so we met here as it was a short walk from the train station. The food was delicious and the service excellent. They didn't even mind that we stayed for over four hours.
