Would not recommend. The service was underwhelming, the food was as well. It took a while for a server to acknowledge us and to bring water . Our server did not know that some drinks were not available until long after we had ordered. the whole experience from beginning to end was very amateur.

Great service and a wonderful view of Providence. I recommend going on a day with nice weather so you can sit on their terrace. Good food at a reasonable price. FYI, the hotel bills a service charge to park your vehicle.

Unfortunately we had a disappointing experience at Blu Violet. We were so looking forward to experiencing the Sunday Brunch at Blu Violet as we had heard many positive things about it. When we arrived and stepped off the elevator we were greeted with nightclub level music blaring from the restaurant. Not realizing this particular Sunday the brunch was a theme - Beyoncé - (who we actually like her music) the noise level was through the roof. It made it nearly impossible to hear each other at our table - we were a group of 4. We did ask the manager if the music could be turned down even a smidge and though pleasant she said no because it was an “event”. Music is fine at a brunch but when the venue is small it doesn’t need to be so loud that our watches indicate that the noise level is extreme. The food was ok, nothing as special as we read about in local publications and our server was practically non-existent, we were short one service we ended up getting on our own, never refilled our water glasses and after our food was served never came back until she brought the check. All in all a disappointing experience that could have been so much better.

I only wish they had a gluten-free option. Otherwise, we’ll be going there more often.

Made Valentine reservations and they ran out of food to order for main meal. We did have good tuna appetizer, and a wedge salad with avocado. We were seated at a 2 top, that felt like we were on stage with them. It was probably a great seat for many, and although the jazz band trio was phenomenal, it didn’t feel appropriate to talk to each other while they were playing. It was like you were at their concert vs enjoying music in the background while eating dinner like I hoped. This location is not a cozy dinner experience, where you can relax and unwind with your significant other. It’s small tables set up in small hotel bar area. Not what I prefer when making plans for dinner. I would go for a cocktail or in the summer when the rooftop is open, as I’m sure that is a much different and more enjoyable experience. Bryan was our server, he was excellent and went above and beyond what was in his control to offer us options when the main courses were sold out. The hostess’s were also amazing and welcoming. I should have done my homework and scoped the place out before deciding on it for dinner and a special evening. I hope this helps.

The service was great! The facility and ambiance was very nice for our Valentines Day outing and anniversary celebration! All of the employees were welcoming and accommodating! The general manager was extremely nice and checked on us often throughout the night. The live music added the perfect touch! I thoroughly enjoyed the band and would love to see them perform again! We weren’t that impressed with the options on the V Day menu but we ordered the ahi tartare and it was very delicious! We will definitely be returning to try out the full menu!

We went for a Valentine’s Day Dinner. The tuna tartar and focaccia with fig and burrata were delicious appetizers. The main course was good but not quite as good as the apps were. Overall, it was a lovely experience and the live band they had were INCREDIBLE!

We went to the restaurant because we wanted to eat from the vegan menu. The vegan stuffed mushrooms were amazing and as we were eating them we thought the rest of the meal has to be awesome if it follows in these footsteps. I got the lentil Bolognese and my husband got the homemade gnocchi. Both were mediocre at best. My pasta was so al dente and chewy and the gnocchi didn’t taste like gnocchi- it had a really strange flavor. Both of us thought we would never come back and order these. Maybe coming back for drinks and just a few appetizers would be a better call but we have eaten chef Cara‘s vegan food at another restaurant that she used to work at and the food was spectacular. This food was not.
