    Food was very tasty but not very helpful dairy-free alternative options for children. The waiter spilled our bottled still water over my daughter and charged us for the water, as well as the entirety of his service charge. I considered that presumptuous.

    Very good place for large groups, very good customer service. The only downside was that at 5pm on Sunday they’ve run out of chicken and lamb - 2 out of 4 roast dishes in the menu. Bad planning really…

    I have been a resident of Chelsea for 30 years, over this time I have spent many lunches, dinners and events at The Bluebird Restaurant. I had been for quite a while, maybe a year or so. Most of the Staff were very polite and professional. I found the main restaurant had removed the traditional white table cloths, which give a smart professional special feel. It may sound odd but we didn’t feel excited to be taken to our table because of this. The feeling was just not the same for me, it felt ordinary. I would imagine this change is due to laundry cuts. The food was very good, my gnocchi was full of flavour but it was very salty. They had a new reasonably priced Champagne, I can’t remember the name, but it was okay, it felt a bit cheap. When the champagne was served the glass hadn’t been chilled which to me is a must. The barman happily changed our glasses and was eager to please. Will I return, yes for a cocktail but not to eat, it’s the white cloths, please Bluebird bring them back 🙏

We note that you enjoyed the service and the cocktails but have passed on your food comments to the chef to work with. Regarding the lack of tablecloths this has been for some time and was the interior decorators decision as the tables are half marble and half wood so he did not want them covered up, however as a guest your opinion is very important to us and noted.     A little underwhelming, with confusion about what food we'd actually ordered (missing starter, for example), and then very average main courses. Is the Bluebird trading on past glories? The menu is definitely not exciting and is overpriced for what it offers. Definitely room for improvement, we felt.

    The tuna sashimi tasted fishy to me. The bacon cheeseburger was tasty. The drinks were well-made. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was beautiful.

    We have visited the bluebird many times over the years and for different special occasions, this visit was for our daughter’s first birthday. I called in advance to ask if I could bring a small cake for her and was informed that we would be charged £8.50 per person. I explained that’s it’s only a small cake and really only for her young brothers to blow out a candle with her. Again was told that it was policy that we would ALL be charged £8.50 if we did not order a desert. We were 6 adults, 2 kids and a baby so makes for an expensive cake! I asked to speak with reception but the lady on the phone was adamant that this is policy and that’s it! I didn’t bring the cake! At lunch my young son asked if they would do a kids Sunday roast - flat no! I asked if he could have a half portion and again no! He had to have the kids burger which was inedible as was far too salty. My other son complained of the exact same issue with the burger. Never really had a restaurant get a kids burger wrong before! Prices…we get inflation etc but £250 for a bottle of chateau battailly and adding 14.5% to the final bill as service! This is not right in our opinion. Staff were nice and venue good but really disappointing at their lack of flexibility especially when it’s for kids. We won’t be returning anytime soon.

    Overhyped and disappointing. The service was extremely slow and had to call the waiter 3 times until we finally managed to order. The drinks came after we had eaten most of our food already. The French toast was very disappointing, it was closer to a sponge cake than to a French toast. I wouldn't go again.
