My wife and I dined at the restaurant and while the food was absolutely fantastic except for the chicken , the seating experience left a lot to be desired. Upon arrival, the host seated us at a high-top table right by the entrance, which meant we were constantly hit with bursts of cold air every time the door opened—definitely not ideal in Chicago’s winter weather. To make matters worse, the chairs at this table had no lean-back support, making it uncomfortable to sit for an extended period. It felt like we were placed there as an afterthought, despite other couple seated on tables with lean back chair later after 2 minutes when I asked host if there any tables available to seat. That said, the food was excellent. Every dish was well-prepared, flavorful, and served promptly. The service was also friendly and attentive, which helped make up for the less-than-ideal seating. Overall, food is great. Worth going for only food. The seating placement is not thoughtful and ignorant.

We’ve visited several times. The service is usually hit or miss, but tonight we had great service. The food is delicious except for one dish: salchichon iberico, which was nothing more than 5 pieces of store-bought sopressata and definitely not worth $14! Otherwise, the food was delicious and the croquettes were our favorite.

Paella was burnt and the waitress tried saying it was the socarrat (it obviously wasn’t) it was just burnt oil, the dish was tasteless beyond that. Octopus was overcooked and smothered in paprika as well. If you want decent Spanish this would not be my rec in Chicago.

Showed up early for reservation wasn’t seated until close to 30 min late (no big deal). Ordered all our food after our drinks and was never given our most expensive dish we ordered (the octopus). 2 people eating tapas for $200 and not getting every meal we ordered and ended up actually paying for just isn’t worth it for me

This was our second time and the food didn’t disappoint. We tried a few items we had last time like gambas al ajillo, patatas bravas, & the bikini and a few new ones like the choripan and the torrija. The torrija was like a mashup of a churro and French toast. The outside was crunchy and the inside was moist. The choripan was amazing and the chimichurri really worked well with the sausage. Our server (whose name escapes me at the moment) was friendly and attentive. Overall, Boqueria is one of favorite tapas restaurant.

We visited the restaurant on Saturday at 11 a.m. The website advertised a $30 lunch prix fixe menu for Restaurant Week, but upon arrival, we were only offered the regular menu and the $45 dinner option. Fortunately, this worked in our favor since we preferred the tapas selections on the dinner menu. While the portion size was a bit excessive for such an early meal, we packed the leftovers to enjoy later. The service was a highlight—our waitress Lauren was delightful and attentive, and the entire staff we encountered was warm and friendly. The food was above average, though not exceptional. The garlic butter shrimp had excellent flavor but was overly greasy, while the jamón charcuterie was truly wonderful. The ambiance was inviting, with a beautifully designed interior that’s well-suited for small groups. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience.
