YOUR 20% DOES NOT GO TO THE SERVER! There is a 20% service fee that seems like it goes to the server but it does not at all. The 20% goes only to the restaurants operating costs - NOT the server. The server gets only 2% of the bill and any ‘additional tip’ on the bill. On the menu, it says the 20% is not for the server. However, on the bill it says ‘additional tip’ which makes you think that 20% goes to your server. It doesn’t at all. It feels criminal to expect 40% on top of already outrageous prices. The food and service was fine, but the whole discussion at the end ruined everything. I won’t be coming back and I don’t recommend this place at all. Our bill for three people was $191 just for the food and drinks (one each). The bill after the 20% service charge, tax, and an actual tip for our waiter was $293. It was an additional 40% for literally nothing. You can’t blame Prop 82 for scamming people and slapping 20% onto everything and not explaining where it goes or what it does. Don’t recommend.

Why play music loudly when restaurant was noisy to begin with. Waitress had to be reminded of things she should be doing. Overall a disappointment.

Not an experience I was expecting esp. from the hospitality industry..was appalled to be served Cappuccinos in chipped drinkware! Sure, I let the server know, he acted like he didn’t understand what I was saying, feigned absolute ignorance! I then let the manager know and the drinkware was promptly replaced with the coffees taken care of off the bill. I was made ‘aware’ that the Cappauccinos were ‘on the house’ like I needed to be elated by the gesture! It was just so cringeworthy! It’s not about the money but the ‘experience’ that matters! I am coming out of my home hoping to have a good time. But when there is a lack of respect to your customers..it tells a lot about the establishment! Post Covid everyone is adding the customary 20% to the tab irrespective of the group size. So why can’t there be a little more sincerity from the restaurants?! Is ‘expecting’ clean silverware and plates, glasses a “Luxury” ?!!!

My steak frites was overcooked. Be warned that the restaurant add a “20% service charge to cover increasing operating costs” which they disclose on the menu. I think this is not a consumer-friendly practice. It creates the perception that prices are lower. Why not just update the menu item prices to reflect their true price?

We had lunch there. Saw some reviews comparing it to food in France. There is not really a great comparison from my experiences in France. The food wasn’t bad but it certainly wasn’t extraordinary. I thought the staff was very friendly and moderately attentive. There is a 20% surcharge but I knew that from other reviews. If you want to add tip on top of that you can. I think Georgetown offers a lot of good eating choices and it was ok.

Really enjoyed my meal! The menu has all the French classics and more. The fries were soo good. My steak frites (medium rare) was a touch tough, will try the fish next time. Service was excellent. 20% service fee that is not a tip makes it a bit pricey - why not increase the menu price?! Overall, very nice place, a bit pricey, but will definitely return!
