Opening 7 Days for Dinner and Sunday Brunch - Starting September 24th

Chef Aless had been cooking French food in NYC at Mon Petit Cafe, her NYC family owned business until 2017. She then opened a successful catering company that's still going strong. She joined forces with her husband Justin a successful NYC restauranteur to create Brasserie.
Signature dishes are "Parisian" specialties such as Steak au Poivre, coq au vin and seafood towers. The couple also serves "American" fare with a French twist like the bistro burger and other amazing treats like mussels and fries.

Chef Aless was featured on Food Networks Chopped!! Google the "snails episode"

The restaurant vibe and decor is a replica of both Parisian and NYC French brasseries. The hospitality is both inviting and professional.

The food is simply perfection as Chef grew up on her grandparents vineyard in France and French food comes naturally.

I’ve been to Brasserie many times where both the food and service were outstanding. However, we went during restaurant week and both the food and service were disappointing. I ordered the mussels as an appetizer and a third of the shells were empty, and the deviled eggs appetizer was a very small portion with a surcharge. The pasta main entree dish was very bland and flavorless. We didn’t have an opportunity to relay our concerns to the server since they never came back to check on us. Hopefully this was just one bad experience.

Forget about eating mussels any where else! On a recent Tuesday evening the mussels meunière were scrumptious! Ambiance is always relaxing and the service welcoming. Go and enjoy.

We visited for restaurant week after finding their menu on the LIRW website. They had what we considered strong offerings for restaurant week and we were not let down. We were greeted by the owner when we walked in who seemed genuinely happy that we were there. The inside of the cafe has a pretty good French feel. Our waiter came over and explained the regular menu as well as offering the restaurant week menu. We ordered a wine and a mocktail - the latter of which was really really good. For food we had appetizers of the mussels and a French onion soup. My wife said the mussels were good and the waiter even brought over more bread to soak up the sauce. The onion soup was excellent. They even honored my burn the cheese request - fantastic. For dinner we both had the rosemary marinated hanger steak with tomato jam, shallots and potato gratin. This was by far the star of the night and one of the best steak mains I’ve had in a LONG time. The steak had an amazing sear on it but it was still a perfect medium rare. The tomato jam and shallot sauce is was in was next level - probably would have made shoe leather tatse good. The potato gratin it came with was also really good. For dessert we had a chocolate cake and a lemon tart - both were good. Not extraordinary, but a very solid offering. Overall it was a great meal with great service. We will definitely be back to hopefully try other dishes - but that steak will probably win again.

Brasserie by Chef Aless exceeded every expectation—elegant, intimate, and deeply rooted in classic French cuisine. The star of the night was the Coquilles Saint-Jacques, perfectly seared scallops served in a luscious, buttery sauce that was rich without being heavy. Every element on the plate was thoughtful and balanced, capturing the soul of traditional French cooking with refined execution. The ambiance was warm and stylish, and the service was impeccable—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. They serenaded me with “Happy Birthday” over a delectable Lemon Tart. Very refreshing to have a such great French place on Long Island where there is a lot of Italian food. Highly recommend.

This was our first time dining here since it opened two years ago. I must say, it did not disappoint! If you love authentic French cuisine, you'll absolutely love Brasserie! We enjoyed the seared foie gras and oysters as appetizers. For our main courses, I had the Ratatouille, and my husband had the Duck. Everything was cooked to perfection and FULL OF AMAZING FLAVOR!

It was our first time dining here and I am so glad we did. From the service to the food, this restaurant is a wonderful experience. We had the Mussels Marinières to start us off with 2 delicious cocktails from the bar. The mussels were cooked to perfection with a delicious sauce that we had to soak up with some of their freshly baked bread. I highly suggest getting this as a starter. For a main course, we weren’t starving so I decided to try their Burger. So glad I did as it was one of the most flavorful and delicious burgers I’ve had in a long time. After another round of drinks, which by the way, are generous pours; we moved onto dessert. Suggested by the owner, Justin, we opted for the Profiteroles. Delicate pastry puffs with a light cream filling that was so good. I could keep going about this place, but I wouldn’t even do it justice because it was so good. Evan was our server and usually is behind the bar, however this evening he was needed out on the floor. He delivered solidly and made our evening great. Justin, the owner came by and had a very nice conversation with us and shared about how he and his wife started this restaurant after working for years in NYC eateries. Great job to Justin and his wife the culinary artisan in the kitchen. You have both knocked it out of the park here with Brasserie. We will be back for more soon.
