   Bad experience on valentine's day. We waited an hour in the cold weather after our reservation had passed. Nothing comped, only a red rose and eventually a from frozen no good cheesecake. Paid over $150. The food was bad. We got the eggplant appetizer, which was OK but not good, the arancini which were gross, and the orrechiette (probably misspelling that) which they seemed to be using brown gravy and cut up hot dog style sausage links for. The bartender was good and a nice guy, no complaints about the staff, just the running of the restaurant overall.

   It was a Tuesday night in January, so not very crowded but excellent, attentive service. The food was very good too. Highly recommend Bricco Osteria.

   After being seated staff members were slow to bring us water or take a wine order. Subsequently, we had at least 4 different servers (possibly 5) and we were never sure who was actually serving us.

   Everything was wonderful. Service was excellent. My husband had the Chilean Sea Bass, and I had the Penne Alla Vodka. It's very authentic--we felt like we were in old New York.

   Food was ok. Service totally lackluster - had to ask for a menu for my wife, they brought the wrong bottle of wine and seemed confused when we asked about it, refused to let us order a side vegetable, ignored us repeatedly. So confusing. Oh and the ambiance is institutional - every lightbulb is a different color temperature and the overhead lights are full of dirt. No thanks.

   We had a very enjoyable dinner here tonight. We both ordered veal dishes. They were both way better than those from Italian restaurants we normally frequent in Marin and Sonoma counties. We shared a great bottle of Lola pinot noir. Service was very good. Can't think of more compliments to add. We will be back next time we're in Calistoga.

   The waiter was excellent. The cooking staff was excellent. The food was delicious. We order various items and they all were exceptional.

    While I enjoyed my pasta dish, I thought it was overpriced. My friend had the lasagna and neither one of us liked it. The restaurant was noisy.
