I had the lamb. Was totally divine. And really love the strawberry cider.

The restaurant is part of the pub called the Old Goat. The day we went for dinner there was a party on one side & so it was crowded & noisy. The ambiance was typically Pub style. Service was good but not too quick. We had ordered the sharing platter as starters which was good & seemed good value. Our mains was Sea bass & the other was supposedly lamb shank. The fish was dry, over cooked & the lamb shank seemed it had seen better days. The portions were big but not very tasty. The waitress was pleasant & did her best but had too much to do. The wine list was short & did not have much choice. There was a bigger cocktail list but did not go for that. Tables were a bit cramped & if that night it was full it would feel cramped. Guess if one wants a pub meal then the Brough is okay.

Great restaurant/ pub with a superb menu offering a great selection of meat, fish, vegetarian, risotto etc..., but the star of the menu is the moules section. They offer enormous portions of perfectly cooked, big, succulent mussels in a choice of about six different sauces ranging for the classic marinieres through to a hot & spicy Sri Lankan curry sauce- and all served with a bucket of frites & a selection of bread, and great value for money. The venue itself is a cross between rustic pub/ French bistro/ Belgium beer cellar, very warm and welcoming, with a great ambience created with candles and a good choice of background music. The service for the most part is friendly, professional & attentive. They also have a selection of around 95 beers to try, which is great, but while the food menu is good value for money, the beers are pretty price (try £7 a pint of fruit beer!). Over all a great place to dine and drink & highly recommended.

A fabulous evening was enjoyed by the whole of our party of six. I was looking for somewhere that covered all of our tastes including a child that is a very picky eater. Plenty to choose from in fact I found it hard to choose. Food was delicious, portion sizes were just right. Waiter was attentive and was happy to let us have time between each course. Lovely atmosphere. Thought the value for money was excellent. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and if we are in the area again would definitely go back.

Living less than a three minute walk from Brouge At The Old Goat, I class this establishment as my local eating establishment. I often go in for lunch and take clients for a great value meal. Their two/three lunch menu, available from Monday to Thursday (midday to 7pm) is amazing value for money, with a range of dishes suitable for most tastes. Value for money wise, I give it ten out of ten. The full menu, along with varied specials of the day, all add to the excellent of this restaurant. Service is excellent, attentive and professional. I'd not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone, as you will not be disappointed. If Sunday lunch is your thing, then you must go and give it a try one day. Superb roast dinners, as well as vegetarian options too. A truly excellent place, run by professional and helpful staff. Well done to everyone, both seen and unseen.

We have visited for both the Sunday carvery and on other occasions. This visit was for Sunday lunch. In addition to the carvery choices of beef and lamb, we were advised that chicken was also available from the kitchen together with a selection of specials and normal menu choices. The meat was extremely tender and is carved for you. Help yourself to Yorkshire puds, gravy, veg, and sauces, all of which is freshly cooked, hot, and quickly replenished. Reasonable priced wine choices but if you want to experiment with Belgian beers this is the place for you. The selection is large and the staff are knowledgeable and willing to provide information to help make your choice.

We went on a Bank Holiday so maybe this was why is was so noisy - there were lots of babies/kids which I have no objection to but would rather eat in peace. The food was very good and a very reasonable price for the quality. Will try another time when it's not a holiday time and hopefully it will be a bit more relaxing

Food good, reasonably priced- probably better than average pub grub. Good ambience generally, although music seemed a bit loud at first. Service good on the whole, would go again, and would recommend to friends.

We're just back home after another really lovely Sunday carvery meal at the Brouge. This is our 3rd visit now. The food is beautiful and the cassis beer which my husband had was really lovely ( we always try a new unusual beer ) . I can't drink until February following an operation but as soon as I can we'll be back so I can try a cocktail, I did however enjoy my latte. The cheesecake was absolutely beautiful. But the outstanding thing for me is the staff. They were extremely busy today but they're always so kind, helpful and welcoming with a big smile. That's extremely important to me and it's why we keep coming back and will highly recommend to friends and family. Thank you :)
