Buck's Restaurant can be found at the end of a granite walkway lined with edible herbs in the small oceanfront town of Brooksville. We’re only a stone’s throw away from picturesque Buck’s Harbor and just across the road from historic Condon’s Garage, made famous by Robert McCloskey’s beloved children’s book “One Morning in Maine.” We’re also directly adjacent to the Buck’s Harbor Market—under common ownership—which has been the center of community life for over 75 years.

At Buck's Restaurant, our goal is to combine fine dining with friendly, observant service in a casual setting. Our menu features inventive dishes made with freshly caught seafood, premium meats and locally grown produce. Many of our dishes are gluten-free, and tasty vegetarian options are always available. For shellfish lovers, we offer a raw bar stocked with oysters and clams harvested from the cold, pristine waters of Penobscot Bay.

Very good sea food. Skimpy pours of wine, better to get a whole bottle.

Well it would have been better if the place was open on a Wednesday. Open Table took my reservation, confirmed it and when we got to the restaurant it was not open. Even the Google search result had it open on a Wednesday evening. The owners should pay better attention to their online presence. Definitely would not try to go here again.

We have loved Bucks for years. The space is lovely, our waitress was terrific, but the food was severely oversalted on this visit. My scallops were disappointing because of the salt, but the broccolini was inedible. Just a mouthful of salt. (Aside: why do restaurants serve broccolini? It looks tender, but the stems are always woody, and that leaves only the spindly tops to stand in as the evening’s vegetable.) We’ll go back, of course, because this was surely just one poor night in the kitchen, and we have always loved this restaurant.

This restaurant is award worthy. The food is flawless. The presentation is beautiful and meticulous, next level really. The service is spot on; warm, friendly and doesn’t miss a beat. The atmosphere and setting are beautiful. If you’re sailing in, it’s one of the most gorgeous moorings you’ll ever use, if you didn’t sail in, stop and see the harbor, it’s a postcard everywhere you look. This is my favorite restaurant.

Had an exceptional dinner at Buck’s during a ten day sailing trip. Tied up to one of their moorings for the night. The restaurant was unexpectedly stylish. Everything, from the garden that lines the entrance to the restaurant, to the biscuits that were on the table as we sat down, and the service was perfect. We began with local oysters, shared lobster cakes, had several of the bespoke cocktails, shared pot roast and turbot piccata and sampled many of the desserts. Perfect. Can’t wait to come back.

The service was excellent, wine list and non alcoholic cocktails were amazing. The food was only okay for the price.

We had a delicious meal. In an area full of mediocre restaurants it was a joy to find Bucks. Everything was made and presented with care. The raw oysters and lamb breast were wonderful. We loved the duo of creme brûlée. The wait staff seems happy. You can spend the same amount of money at a mediocre restaurant as you spend at Bucks. In the first you'll get something to eat and you won't be hungry and you'll get fries but at Bucks you'll get a delicious meal, beautifully presented and served by people proud of what they are serving.
