We are fine-casual dining with a fire at the core of its heart. Through the smoke and whiskey ashes of the previous iteration which closed its doors in 2020 rises a new haze of smoke and whiskey as we bring back this iconic brand, smoked meats, bourbon, beer, deep hues, and various spaces to a new location in the North Loop. Butcher & The Boar will honor its beloved roots, while spreading new ones in the fresh foundation that will help our guests embark on a journey with notes of nostalgia that carry the torch forward with new tastes and experiences.

With immense gratitude, we invite you to Live Full Boar with us.

So glad we finally got to try Butcher & thr Boar! We will definitely be back. The ambiance and food was exactly what we look for. The tri-tip was delicious to get that smoked flavor with it still getting cooked to a medium!!! Great place to go for a date or an outing with friends. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

An exciting menu, I had no idea where to start. The food was outstanding, the restaurant was crystal clean. Love the restroom hallway with the layer of pennies covered in clear epoxy - nice touch!! Service was slow, but otherwise an experience to share....I shall return!!

Beautiful restaurant!! Love the look! Server was engaged & funny. Had the salmon entree , the chilled cucumber salad & the shrimp /fried green tomatoe appetizer . They were amazing. Unfortunately I can’t say that about the long ribs! It was all fat & half you couldn’t even eat. It’s $85.00 so it should be better than that. I didn’t realize how bad it was because I took that home because I was full. I tried to eat it the next day & had to throw it out. I get the long ribs every time I go there, so I know what they should be, and that wasn’t it! Overall it still was good & I will go back.

Service was awesome. It was my hubby's bday so they gave him a free dessert. Things were moving a little slow but luckily we weren't in a hurry. The new place is very well decorated and has a nice vibe. The food was delightful but pricey. That is what you expect nowadays I guess. However charging us to use our credit card is absurd.

First time here and restaurant week did a great job portraying what they offer. The service was amazing from once we walked in. 3 course meal for an exceptional price only took a picture of our appetizer cause we were excited for what was offered next.

All the food tasted the same, it all had the same aroma of greasy smoked sausage, even the bread. The “potato cakes” (I was picturing latkes) were essentially deep fried hash browns that tasted like frozen tater tots. Other diners were very loud and disruptive and swearing, which isn’t a reflection on the establishment itself, but I hoped for a more classy experience. I was confused about who my server was, because we had four different people asking us the same questions over and over. We didn’t go more than a few minutes without someone talking to us, for example, one staff member would refill our water and ask if we were doing okay, and we’d say yes thank you. Then another staff member would top off our already full water and ask the same question about two minutes later. I appreciate the attentiveness but it felt awkward. We didn’t order any entrees. For two teeny tiny apps that tasted just okay, and a couple drinks, I thought $160-ish was pretty outrageous. Butcher and the Boar seems to be more about having a beautiful dining room and extensive wine and spirits list, than it is about serving great food. I would call it a great bar that happens to serve some okay food.
