Really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Eccentric enough to be comfortable to all and genuine in intent and execution. Good selection of wines at accessable price points . Someone took the time to curate a experience we can all share with friends and future friends.

Undercooked $65 steak served, ordered medium, came out rare. The steak was sliced, you could see it was undercooked before even brining it to the table. The plate was taken back to the kitchen and the same piece was brought back with slightly bummed up temp in a microwave or oven , still rare parts in it. I pointed out to the owner Bart about our experience and he cared less. I said the undercooked food already growing bacteria while being served, furthermore warming it up would cause even more bacteria to grow on it, which could lead to health issues. Bart didn’t like what he was told and ask us to never come back. Who would come back after such a bad experience? There were quite a few more things about our visit to this place,no proper greeting from our server, I had to ask his name, no menu presentation either. At least Mike (our server) apologized for our experience. Mr Bart I’d suggest for you to treat your guests with respect regardless of their criticism of your restaurant and its standards. Your inability to handle issues is pretty telling!

Beware: MAGA hotspot. Odd vibes. Food is mid. Over priced.

Not my cup of tea. Everything on the menu is duck or pork. Even the homemade focaccia was bland. Pretty spot tho with nice service. But the food…

Great dining experience with a lively, cheerful crowd. Small menu (with little options for vegetarians) and very good quality of food. Interesting selection of "fun" wines. Very few places in DC with Americano cocktail included in their drink list. Service was very nice and attentive.

A wonderful time! My only comment is that the duck confit was very salty — had to drink a lot of water

Butterworth’s was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in DC yet. The atmosphere and ambience are truly unique and help set this restaurant apart from anything else in the area. The food was excellent, the drinks were great, and the service was impeccable. This is definitely a spot I can see myself being a regular at and everyone in my party had nothing but great reviews.

We went here for Valentine's Day. They made us order from a prefixed menu and did not offer their regular menu. Because every other restaurant in DC is booked on Valentine's Day, we had no choice but to stay. For the amount of money we paid, we received such a disappointing meal. Nothing was particularly delicious to justify the $300 I spent for a table of two (no drinks). I do not intend on coming back.
