The Café Brio, located in Victoria, has been a local favorite for twenty six years, serving up a rustic, Italian inspired menu. Focusing on regional products, Café Brio led by multi awarded Chef Sam Harris selects the highest quality ingredients from local sources to be used in authentic, creative dishes.

At Café Brio, everything is prepared in house. Pasta favorites include gnocchi with roasted leeks, parmesan cream and basil purée, Spaghettini with tomato, garlic, basil, olive oil and parmigiano and also our wild mushroom risotto. From the Sea enjoy seared scallops with peroxides, delicata squash, carmelo and bacon anchovy vinaigrette or our local fish feature. Lastly the Parry Bay Lamb feature from our friends out in Metchosin is an absolute must.

The wine list is extensive with input from multiple Sommeliers on staff always excited to share their new favourite bottle in our unique and cozy dining room.

We were shown to a quiet private table..?and waited on at once. Our food arrived in a timely fashion. It was really tasty however the mushroom risotto was just rice with mushrooms on top but it was delicious. I had a 1/2 order of scallops and received 2 scallops with 2 bacon perogies. Again very tasty but I expected more food for $24.00. The beet salad was a good portion and excellent. Would we return? Yes but we would order something different.

Superb as always. Butter lettuce salad and beet salad excellent, and lamb (4 ways) special was out of this world. I had the half portion and it was plenty. Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert is a sinful must!

The food was excellent. The only issue was the size of the meal. We ordered off the set menu and the starter salad was too big for a starter. We all ordered the half order for the main and that was minuscule.. like a kids meal. Two fingerling potatoes and a 2” square of fish is not a satisfying meal for an adult. We felt ripped off especially since we’d all been looking so forward to our evening out. Our suggestion would be make the salad smaller and make the half order a meal for an adult or just take away the half order if it’s not going to satisfy a normal adult appetite.

I love this place. I’ve been here over the years (like decades ago), but have rediscovered it in the past couple of months. It’s now my go-to spot. The half portion entree makes it possible to try an appy (beet salad, cortini) and dessert (crème brûlée, sticky toffee pudding -yum!). The service is great. Jason was patient as we tried to find the right wine to order. All staff are friendly and attentive. It’s all good. Just go and see for yourself.

Hi Wendy We are very excited to have welcomed you back for the first time in a long time! I am happy to hear that Jason was able to assist you with your wine selections and that you were able to try a bit of everything on the menu. We look forward to your next visit in to try even more! We went to Cafe Brio before catching a show at the Macpherson Playhouse last night. We couldn't get a table reservation the day-of, but they were able to accommodate us at the bar! The hostess was friendly and accommodating. The bartender was knowledgeable, sociable, and helpful. Try his sidecar--delicious! The food came out of the kitchen blazing fast despite the full house. The gnocchi was buttery and smooth, and the tagliatelle was incredibly flavourful--we both highly recommend that one. We splurged on dessert and the sticky toffee pudding was exactly as I hoped it would be--it was pitch-perfect. What an incredible meal!

We had a special birthday celebration with some dietary restrictions. Our server was excellent at guiding us through the menu and making suggestions. We were very happy to be in a quieter alcove and did find the restaurant quite noisy. Overall, a great evening.

Booked our table in advance and requested a quiet area, we got one of the best tables in the house, conducive to a long catch up. The service was attentive and friends with great suggestions for selecting dishes. We shared the daily vegetable appetizer, consisting of 4 veg prepared in different ways. Main dishes were gnocchi, spaghetti with bolognese and daily fish special. Finished off with a small chocolate truffle each. All were delicious and thoroughly enjoyed. Cafe Brio is a staple in the Victoria dining scene for a reason, its consistently excellent.

Our group of 12 was so impressed. The salads were outstanding. The pasta dishes were so tasty particularly the Gnocchi which was like eating tasty pillows of goodness. The vanilla ice cream was as usual so silky.
