   I really was excited about visiting this restaurant. However the experience was not what I expected which was disappointing. There was one server working 1/2 the restaurant with all tables occupied, she just couldn’t keep up. Water and coffee was left unfilled. My French dip sandwich was thin slices of what I thought was roast beef when I expected it to be like a shredded short rib, the au jus tasted a bit like vinegar. I left it unused. The bread was delicious as well as the cheese and garlic aioli on the sandwich . I also ordered a cup of French onion which it too tasted like the au jus broth had been used and had that vinegar taste. One of the 3 ladies having brunch with me tasted the soup and spit it out, saying not to eat it. We told our server and she had a manager come over, which wasn’t necessary, I just wanted a replacement of the side to be an order of French fries. But it was promptly fixed, however the fries weren’t crispy. At that point I didn’t want to make another complaint so I took them to go with the intent of putting them in the air fryer to crisp them up later. The restaurant really has a nice contemporary environment, it’s just that the service and food was a disappointment. I can’t say this is a one and one and will try them again for dinner. Just hope that the experience is much better than what we had today. The rest of the table was happy with their orders, but also mentioned that our drinks weren’t refilled and that it was too much for one server. I saw the manager go around once to refill water but didn’t see an assist again in the 2.5 hours we were there.

   Our server, I believe his name was Justin, did a fine job. The food was great, especially the desert. Bartender made me an exceptional Old Fashioned. The restaurant is very small and unfortunately we were sat next to a group of women who found it necessary to talk very loudly about politics the entire time we were trying to enjoy our anniversary. I doubt we go back.

   Everything about The Chalkboard is great.My salmon and risotto was wonderful. Our waiter was so kind and I enjoyed the Prosecco for my birthday. Definitely will go again.

   Great service from Erica! She was attentive but did not seem overbearing. She checked with the chef to see about the ingredients for a couple menu items which was very helpful. Beautiful atmosphere and excellent food!! We'll be back!

   The service was slow, seemed like only two wait staff on service. We ordered the mini beef Wellington for an appetizer they were good. We then had French onion soup, tasted like it came out of a can and it was cold. Main course was the duck breast, overcooked. Overall experience was subpar, won’t go back.

   The service was outstanding. Not a large restaurant but very comfortable. The updated decor and larger bar was nice. Dinner was great and dessert was even better.
