A lovely ambience and a varied menu make this restaurant an enjoyable evening. Some live music was an added bonus. We'll definitely dine there again.

The food and service are consistently excellent. Attentive server came by our table regularly, just the right amount. We went on a Saturday night, and they have a musician to play/sing/ interact with the customers. We thoroughly enjoyed it (as did other diners), and the music just adds to the ambience. As always, our food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We've eaten at Cafe de France since they were in Plano and have followed them to the Dallas location. We'll be back.

I found this place on Open Table, Valentines Day on Friday night, a tough reservation anywhere the night before. I thought it was odd, that such a great looking place on paper would have availability on the busiest date night of the year. I booked it anyway, along with many others who were looking for a place to take their loved ones on Valentines. Despite the Open Table snafu, we waited for a table and took our chances that this long standing institution would deliver at least a good meal. It delivered a well prepared, great tasting meal that we will not soon forget. Yes, they need to fix their reservation process which sucked that day, but the staff worked their tails off to make the best of a tough situation and the kitchen delivered in the end. We will go back.

Made reservations for valentine's dinner. Showed up with long queue that also had reservations. We ended up leaving after waiting for few minutes while the line continued to grow while there was no host at front.

We actually did not end up dining here. While we had 7:30pm reservations for dinner on Valentine’s Day, there was a line out the door (in the cold). when we arrived. They were not walk-ins but rather other guests who also held reservations. The restaurant could not keep up with the reservations it accepted and managed the situation poorly. As such, we elected not to wait.

We had a reservation, booked 1 month in advance, at 7 pm for Valentine's Day. When we arrived at 6:50 there was a line out the door. As we watched, people were seated on a first come, first served basis. They didn't even ask if we had a reservation. We were finally seated at 7:45. The waiter, who was doing double duty as a host, explained that the problem was that people were taking longer than normal. When I made the reservation, the restaurant was advertising the full menu. When we arrived we found a pared down menu of one appetizer choice, two soups or a salad, three entrees and three desserts. Once seated, we waited twenty minutes for a waitress to take our order, and she wanted everything at once. The service was poor; I don't blame the waitress for this, the restaurant was slammed by the Valentine's Day traffic, but our appetizers and soup showed up htirty minutes after we placed our order and before our drinks had arrived. The appetizer was "pan seared scallops wrapped in bacon with a beurre blanc sauce". The scallops were not seared; barely cooked. And the bacon was under done as well. I was also very disappointed because the published menu had rack of lamb but that was not an option on the pared down menu. When it came to dessert, they were already out of the creme brulee. Now I can understand that Valentine's Day is one of their busiest days of the year, but competent restaurants prepare for the onslaught. They were unprepared and overwhelmed.

Went for the marrow bone (“Butter of the Gods”) and it was great. But the rest of my meal was just okay —-the fish was fine but the cold sweet sauce on the huge chunks of carrot was just weird. And the dinner salad (iceberg with a slice of tomato) was uninspired and the house dressing was sweet, too—-not a tarragon vinaigrette!

Restaurant was closed at 5:30 pm, A pleasant young came outside & told my party they had no reservation for me and they were closed. Open Table format does not give me a chance to shortcut their review questions and simply state I had no chance to judge anything under the newish owners. I DO recommend Open Table resolve the question over Cafe De France's real hours of operation. Or wherever the breakdown was. Have enjoyed going here many times in the past, so my inclination is to point to Open Table. Mary, Dallas TX.

Lovely little French bistro with excellent food and good prices. There is something for everyone. Drink prices are also very reasonable. Desserts were tasty. Highly recommend for a change of pace!
