   Been awhile since we have visited Cafe Frank but glad to be back. Dinner was excellent particularly the duck. Service was excellent. Entree’s came a bit too quickly in just view but all in all, a nice experience

   Food, service, ambiance all great. I’m giving 3 star for bartender. We waited 40 minutes and almost finished our appetizer before getting a glass of wine and manhattan. We have had the same issues with the same bartender ant Cafe Frank. At one point we asked if we could get our own darn cocktails! We did not order a second because who knows how long it would take for her to get them ready. We’d be finished! We noticed she was quickly serving people at the bar and chatting with them for lengths of time. while we waited. I felt bad for our server who was very attentive and efficient and was checking in with the bartender consistently. This is not a new problem - cafe frank either needs to get another bartender or one who is more efficient and can handle a normal Saturday night crowd. We love the place otherwise.

   I never write bad reviews but this warrants one. The appetizer (mushroom fritters and caesar salad) were good but the main was awful. We ordered 2 of the tagliatelle truffle pasta at our table and it tasted like cardboard. I’m genuinely confused because pasta is really hard to make poorly but there was clearly no salt used, it did not taste like truffle at all and was just really gross. Paying $33 for each of the dishes (so $66 total) on something that tasted that bad was appalling and the restaurant did nothing to help. No reimbursement for the dish or anything. Will not be going back.

   I'm really sorry to hear this. I'm not sure what went wrong, but I promise you we will figure it out and make sure it doesn't happen again. The pasta should've been removed from your bill and an alternative offered when you indicated that you were unhappy with it. I'll reiterate this with our service staff. I want you to know this is not indicative of our usual performance, and I really do hope you will give us another chance to exceed expectations. I've responded privately with my contact information.    The staff was charming and friendly with great suggestions and excellent service. The food was delicious and while they were out of a promising element of a 3 course selection (the soup looked amazing) Dylan recommended some excellent choices. I will definitely go again.

   Love this outpost in C’ville. Almost can imagine sitting in Paris. Bar service is exceptional.

   It's as if a nice little bistro from Paris was air-dropped in Charlottesville. A splendid dining experience with a superb menu, smartly chosen wine list, and a great location. Staff is just super and the chef outdid himself with the seafood offerings.
