We had a reservation at 7 PM but there was a hiccup and we weren’t seated until 730 PM. Naturally we weren’t super thrilled but the restaurant was able to make up for this and give us truly exceptional service, to the point where I was pleasantly surprised. The meal was delicious and brought out to us quickly. The spices and flavors were well balanced. We appreciated the chef’s creativity and effort put into every dish. The ingredients tasted fresh and you could smell the subtle but pleasant culinary aromas emanating from the kitchen. The noise level was just right - quiet enough to speak to your party, and loud enough where you don’t feel people will overhear every single word you’re saying. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.

We came for the first time on Valentine’s Day and had their set menu at $95 a person. The food was okay at best considering they have a Michelin star chef. Nothing stood out as amazing and some things were actually unappetizing. I had the short rib with risotto as my main course, and the amount of meat on the short rib was under whelming compared to the amount of risotto that was given. The flavor was fine but expected more for what was advertised and charged. Our wait staff was friendly and was attentive when we needed something, but one of the waiters must have been working extremely hard that day and may have forgotten his deodorant. It was a bit hard to ignore while we were eating. Overall we were a bit disappointed, but maybe our expectations were too high? We aren’t opposed to spending some money on food, but the value didn’t feel justified.

This was our first time dining at CaliChilli. What an amazing experience it was! We went to the Long Beach location and ordered the lunch special at $30 per person. The special of the day was crispy cauliflower, an eggplant dish, short ribs dish, chicken tikaka, rice, and salad. We enjoyed every dish. The flavors and aromas were incredible. The salad had blueberries and strawberries and was fresh and tasty. Our server was attentive, polite, and a complete gentleman. We will definitely go back. We highly recommend this restaurant as one of the best Indian fusion food we've had in a long time.

Overall mediocre experience at best. Had a reservation for 8 pm. Was quickly notified by staff that “they were busier than expected” so despite reservation, we would need to wait till 9 pm for a table and only had bar seating readily available. We opt to take the bar seating as who’s going to wait 1 hour. Get to our seat, 15 minutes go by without a waiter even asking us what we want. We need to flag down one of the waiters who then takes our order. We ordered a mango margarita, two appetizers, and a large entree. This simple drink literally took 15-20 minutes to make for whatever reason and when arrived, was not tasteful in any way that warranted such a long wait. Our food came out rather quickly and in an appropriate fashion (apps first, then large entree). Food was OK. The lamb chops and naan were lukewarm suggesting they were sitting at the counter for the waiter to serve for a while. Overall, horrendous experience primarily due to service, noting they only had 2 waiters and 1 manager (I think?) for an entire restaurant. Don’t understand the hype and have had better street food for 1/3 the cost. Would not recommend this restaurant.

We went for DineLA and it was the best experience. We had a 7month old with us and got the front area booth. It was perfect since he sits up on his own and he was wedged in between so he could be safe from falling over on a table with regular chairs. The food and value for the dining experience was spectacular. I will recommend them to everyone.

CaliChilli is a neighborhood gem and a destination spot too! My friend and I went for an early dinner, we were welcomed warmly and seated at a large booth with a picture window facing the neighborhood. Our server explained the menu to us and recommended several dishes. We shared cauliflower fritters which were tasty, yet a bit more like the cauliflower was lightly breaded and fried. Yummy sauce accompanied the cauliflower. We also tried the Famous Butter Chicken pot pie, delicious! The old school Chicken Tikka was so juicy and flavorful! We ordered rice for the Chicken Tikka and the rice was fluffy, flavorful and a great accompaniment . The ambiance is lovely, the staff is very kind. I will definitely return and look forward to it!

I was so excited when I saw that Cali Chilli was on the list of restaurants participating in DineLA's Restaurant Week from 1/24/25 - 2/7/25 and immediately made a reservation! I had high expectations from positive reviews from a fellow foodie coworker of mine. Glad to share that I had an amazing experience dining here for lunch! The ambiance is gorgeous and chic, service was excellent, and the food was SO delicious! I ordered the Cauliflower Fritters, Cali Sticky Ribs, and Butter Chicken Wings. My order came with Saffron Rice and Garlic Naan. My food was so flavorful and fragrant. Dessert was a creamy and tart panna cotta with berries. I am looking forward to dining here again and trying more off the menu! Highly recommend.
