Every dish is pure bliss, but the iwashi toast is ecstasy. Service is top-notch, too, and so helpful when trying to narrow down options.

We came as Tsubaki super fans. This was our first time at Camelia. The whole experience was exceptional across the board. The big debate all night was “what was best?” Nothing won, we loved every bite. Service was crisp and relaxed full of detail and passion. Our wine glasses was never full nor empty, just perfectly chilled white burgundy for each small course bite. Sublime..

There were four of us and the food was stellar. Sea bream, broccolini , loup de mer, pork chop, sweet potato gratin, white asparagus and chicken. We particularly found the seam bream and white asparagus exceptionally creative and tasty. Service was good. However, if the dish is for sharing, I would ask that the bus person bring a serving utensil with the food. I asked the bus persons where the asparagus was from but she did not return with the answer.

The people who brought us Tsubaki and Ototo have knocked it out of the park. Camelia is attractive and comfortable (from the bar to the table), the menu is unique and interesting and the service impeccable. I’ve been twice in one week!

Our anniversary was celebrated at our favorite restaurant. The was delicious and made with care. The service was exceptional. All members of the team celebrated our anniversary as if they were family. A memorable experience was essential on this occasion. We will be back soon to ensure we try every item on the menu.

Great service from the server Juliana, she was very mellow and relaxed which was refreshing. Appreciated her checking in with me every course. Even though I was a solo diner I felt like I was getting more attention than even some other tables haha.. which I LOVED. As someone who works in a restaurant of the same caliber I enjoyed the level of service. She surprised me with all the food as I gave her full control over what I should order. I liked the small touches of the sommelier pouring out the “deep cuts”(wine of the night) for me at the table. Having the opportunity to try a total of 10 dishes I was most impressed with the small dishes, especially those from raw bar and snacks. The chicken lover mousse blew me away and was my favorite. Some of the larger plates at the end of the menu were okay. Dessert was lovely. Overall I’m willing to try again because of the feeling of having a coursed-out experience. But do hope that some of the larger plates at the end of the menu impress me next time.

Enjoyed beautiful tasty food at a contemporary eatery located in a part of downtown that is proving to be the heart of the L. A. food scene! The restaurant’s energy/ambience reflects the upbeat vibe of the place, its staff and its patrons …

Unlike our first experience early on, we were thrilled with everything except the noise level. Not sure why a lively restaurant with hard surfaces needs to play music loudly. The food - more contemporary Japanese than French - was extraordinary and the service very good. It should be noted that it is not inexpensive!

Booked a table and they put me outside in a place that does not have proper heating and is very noise.
