   Excellent taste !! However, portions could be a little bit more generous. Service and attention were impeccable!! Maybe add some music will help to enhance the ambiance. Great overall experience !!

   El servicio fue pesimo. El chico que nos atendio no parece tenia experiencia o no tenia ganas de trabajar. Para un evento asi...deberian contratar personas aptas y atentas. Derramo agua sirviendola y ni se preocupo ni dijo nada. Tambien tuvimos que llamarlo como 3 veces para que nos atendiera. Definitivamente por tan mal servicio no pudimos disfrutar mas el evento. Propina lo minimo que pudimos darle. No se gano mas.

   Great place to eat. Bit pricey but the salmon and lobster soup were superb. Highly recommend this restaurant. I was a little apprehensive after reading some reviews but it was quickly dispelled when I got here. We sat outside and watched the sunset. Our waiter, Felix, was one of the best servers I have encountered in my travel - very cordial, knowledgeable about the menu items and very interesting to talk to about the restaurant and San Juan. For dessert, get the crème brûlée. It’s tremendous how all the items mesh. We really enjoyed Cana.

   We were seated quickly and had showed up a bit early for our reservation. Cocktails took a bit to get out, but it seems everything in PR moves a little slower- that's not a bad thing. Well, unless your mains arrive at the same time as your appetizer, which was the only real 'knock' on them. Note that the online menu is quite different than what the printed menu is, and what they bring out is sometimes even different a third time! While the Jamon plate was delicious, the menu didn't mention that there would be shaved chocolate on it! Likewise, the snapper was fried, not pan seared as listed. The staff generously took both of those dishes off of our bill- we didn't ask for that, just wanted to let them know. Overall, the place was nice- a cool respite from the heat and humidity (I loved it but my wife wanted a sweater inside). Tables are nicely spaced, with room to spread out. Drinks and food were tasty, but there wasn't anything that made me want to RUN back.

   Swordfish incredibly tough dry and not to standard. All else was great - the snapper and mahi mahi. Very nice dessert treat for birthdays being celebrated.

   The chicken was a little overcooked, but everything else was excellent. The “Arroz mamposteao” was the best I have ever tasted and the goat cheese cake was out of this world.

    Cana "Canya" is located on property at the fabulous old El San Juan, now operated by Fairmont. The public areas, both indoor and outdoor are absolutely charming. I did not stay at the hotel. The traditional Puerto Rican fare was amazing, the tostones and monfongo were fabulous, as was the tomatoe salad. my only complaint was the organic chicken breast, which was over cooked. I would have sent it back, but there was so much of everything else that we were more than full. The wine list is excellent and reasonably priced.
