Traditional meets modern in this new age Caribbean cuisine restaurant brought you by Chef Tavel Bristol-Joseph of E&R Hospitality Group.

Named after the Canje pheasant, national bird of Guyana, Canje pulls inspiration not just from mainland Guyana, but from Jamaica to Puerto Rico, and all the islands in between. Our menu explores the cooking techniques, ingredients, and many expressions of vibrant food across the region.

Tucked away on the east side of Austin, this lively environment brings a unique cocktail program boasting both spirit forward and fruit driven cocktails and a small selection of natural wines alongside our inventive food menu.

    Amazing experience with a large group for dinner (including adults and kids) on a weekday. The food is amazing and very unique. It was a little too noisy and the lights were dim, which works great for a date, but not as helpful for bringing kiddos. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating! Would return again for sure!

    Canje had tbe most exceptional service I’ve experienced in Austin in a LONG time ! The entire staff was so helpful, friendly, and kept our table pristine and perfectly paced! We were never without a drink, and everyone was super friendly ! And the food was INCREDIBLE!! 20/10 - Canje is top tier ! 💗💗💗

    The filet was amazing. One of the best curry’s I have ever had in my life. I am a huge tres leches fan, but to be honest I did not like this one… but overall, I had a wonderful experience. I will deffo be coming back.

    I love everything about Canje. The ambience, food, service, and value. The flavors of the food and sauces are tropical, creative, and absolutely delicious. I scrape the bowls with a spoon to enjoy every last drop. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Austin, and we always take out of town guests here for the culinary experience. A true gem!

    One of the best restaurants in Austin. The Jerk half chicken is a bit spicy for those who are sensitive to that, but it is amazing. The menu is diverse and luckily filled with small plates (except for the 1/2 chicken) to sample four or five items. Everything is full of flavor which will leave you wanting more. Service / Service are top tier. Kitchen is open and emaculate. An Austin must try restaurant.
