Cantoro Trattoria is a family owned upscale yet casual Italian restaurant featuring house made pastas and traditional Italian cuisine including a variety of pizzas cooked in our wood burning pizza oven. Our in house sommelier and general manager Alex Bazzy maintains a complete wine list from around the world with emphasis on selections from Italy. Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020,2021, and 2022. Mlive "Top 10 List" for best Italian restaurant's in Michigan 2017 and 2022.

    This is hands-down our new 'go-to' place whenever we're in Detroit - everything about it was top-notch and fantastic! The vibe is really great - energetic, friendly and comfortable with a high-end slant to it, if that makes sense. The food was AMAZING. The pasta was absolutely perfect, and the pizza we had was something I'm still dreaming about - perfect crust, perfectly cooked toppings, fresh and so delicious. I wish I could remember our server's name, because she was perfect as well - super professional and super friendly all at the same time. Such a great experience here - we'll be back!

    Overall the food was wonderful. Our server Brianna did a lovely job and easily accommodated our desire to share dishes among the seven of us. Appetizer standouts were Burrat al Tartufo Nero and Polipo all Arrabiala. The Gnocchi al Ragu di Cirghiale was amazing. The other two standouts were the Af Nello alla Scottadite and the Milanese di Melanzane. The only dish that didn't get raves was the linguini with clams. we would definitely return.

    We go to Cantoro’s about five times a year and the food is always fantastic. The waitstaff is great, even on a busy Saturday evening. Three teenagers and they all love it!

    Great food, great service. We went at open for a date night and the noise level was really low. Calamari was very good and probably some of the best lamb chops we've ever had. We definitely be back!

    Tonight's dinner was exceptional. It was authentically Italian, perfectly prepared and presented, and incredibly delicious. Jeff's service made it even more special. There is no better place to go for Italian food. And don't forget that all the ingredients for their meals are available in their market.

    We always enjoy going to Cantaro. We were lucky to have Lynn, a member of the wait staff, today. She always provides excellent service and is an absolute delight, which enhances our experience.
