The Chop House offers private dining in 3 private rooms. The rooms range from the small intimate Library, up to 33 people, with french doors and dark wood reminiscent of an era when things were built to impress. The Capital Room is perfect for a business function or family celebration holding up to 44 guest. The Sun Room holds up to 55 people and can be divided into smaller areas for a more private setting if needed. We can customize a menu to fit any occasion or budget. we have a dedicated staff that will help you plan and execute your event for 2 to 60. At the Capital City Chop House we strive to make every meal an event and have been and this has been successful for us over the last 25 years. Very heavy on the salt. Sauce for scallops was super salty and coming from someone who loves salt, it was just too salty. The brussel sprouts were the consistency of baby food. They appeared to be crispy, but they were soggy and mushy. My husband ordered a steak medium rare and it was medium well. The best was the appetizer with Brie cheese, honey, and sliced apples. That was the best thing we ate there. After our food was delivered and the waiter finally came to check on us after we started eating, I told him the scallops are very salty and he had the audacity to tell me he could change my meal had I not eaten 2 of the 6 salty scallops. How would I have known if I did not eat them? Well, when you do not stop back by after about 15-20 minutes, what did he expect? He did not offer to substitute or offer something different. I did not know it was my fault that the chef(s) did not cook the meal well. I asked for greens beans to be substituted for the brussel sprouts and he did do that but not until I asked. There were about 4 tables that needed to be in private room as they were all together and extremely loud. I was unable to even have a conversation with my husband. I would have expected a manager to intervene and ask them to be more courteous but that did not happen either. There were many other patrons there trying to enjoy their meals also and this place just has no class about them or care about their customers. Needless to say, I'll take myself elsewhere. It was a lot of money for what it was. Don't waste your money here as there are a lot of other fine restaurants in the area that supercedes this place.

We were celebrating my sons's Graduation from Elon University .. His Doctorate in PT..The food and service was amazing, the waitress was friendly and personable...great night. Will definitely come back

Upon arrival was not impressed. No outside lights on , thought possibly closed. Found the front desk staff unfriendly. Our wait staff was outstanding and the food was good. Left with a better outlook

We have been several times, this was the first time in a period of time, was our most disappointing experience. We waited 30 minutes for our initial cocktail. We were not told that the anchovies to the Caesar salad were an up charge, the scallop add on to the prime ribs or drenched in sauce and dad and additional $25 for three scallops was disappointing. Onion rings greasy and soggy. Staff very nice.

What a disappointing experience. This used to be a solid choice for a great business meal experience, but not anymore. I will not take client or employees to the Chop House again. First, after arriving 15min early - on a reservation I had booked 3 weeks in advance- I was told to wait in the bar (no problem). At our reservation time, I returned to the host station where I was told it would be 15 more minutes to wait. When I reminded her of our reservation her manager told her to sit us in the bar area. So on a 3+ week reservation we were forced to sit in the bar and not the dining room. Then our server did not know the menu items and had to return to the kitchen to get our steak questions answered. My client order the iron steak however it was served cold and the other meal was luke warm (it had been sitting). The server (a new one because of original server disappeared leaving us to flag down anyone who walked by for drink refills) returned the steak and brought a new one. It was a pitiful excuse for a $50 steak. They “comped” a dessert (a tiny slice of pie) for the cold steak and delayed service. To cap things off, the staff was pushing us to pay our bill, visiting our table 4 times in 15 min to pick up our credit card. Applebee’s provides better service. Overall, it was a terrible experience and I highly recommend conducting business dinners elsewhere in RDU. Opentable should question being associated with such a place.

Amazing food and service! Traveling from out of town and came in just based on online reviews! Food was prompt and fresh and drink wasn’t watered down. Highly recommend 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
