   A lovely view of the pool and surrounding palms from our table on the terrace outside the restaurant, and diligent, friendly service, but the food is somewhat overpriced hotel food, well presented but just OK, rather than the better food good restaurants serve.

   We went there for the Valentine's Day menu but chose to have their buffet instead which was a wise decision. The buffet offered a wide array of food and desserts that were exquisite. We will definitely visit this restaurant again.

   We’ve never experienced a more disappointing dinner than last night at Carambola! First off, it was Christmas night. We chose Carambola because of the Christmas Prix Fix menu, with holiday traditional options and really looked forward to a nice Christmas evening. After arriving at 8pm and not yet having our main course after 2 hours, we left. In fact, at 10pm we were told it might be an additional 20-30 minutes! We left starving and frustrated. The only positive for the night was they didn’t charge us for 2 glasses of wine, a bottle of sparkling water and soup and salads. We understand the JW Marriott is the high end brand for Marriott, which initially gave us confidence, we’d have a great experience. I’m sorry to say, our experience did tarnish the brand as well as the restaurant.

   Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Food was good but not the level of other Marriott properties.
