   Food is only just ok. Pasta dish seemed heated in microwave, superhot to burn in the middle and just warm around edges. Decent taste. Kind service. Disturbing smell of sewer in the restaurant. Lovely views.

   The view, the service, the food all top notch. Order the Boathouse warm rolls, spectacular. Also loved the beet salad, and the quiche. Great spot to take in Central Park.

   We have been going to the Loeb Boathouse for years and it just gets better every time we dine there. The food and service is outstanding and the view cannot be beat. Thank you!!!

   Taxis used to be able to drive people to the Boathouse. I am old and can’t walk very far. Finally my Uber driver took the risk and drove me to the door. There was some confusion about how to actually enter the Cafe. The hostess stand should be by the door not in the middle of the restaurant. To be able to leave we had to use a pedicab (again because of my mobility issues) at $45 for a five minute ride to Fifth Avenue where we got a cab home. Waiter was great. Burgers were delicious. Table by the window offered a great view for my young friend visiting from Colorado.

   Lunch was a lovely experience. My only disappointment was we couldn't get a table next to a window although I requested one when I made the reservation. The restaurant has a nice view of the lake. Our server Eduardo was attentive and courteous. The meal starts off with a complimentary relish platter with olives, cucumbers and hummus which were very tasty. I highly recommend the jumbo lump crab cake which was big and loaded with crabmeat. It was pricey but worth it. My husband had the clam chowder which he enjoyed, it was a red soup, neither Manhattan nor New England, chock full of clams and just spicy enough. The prime rib French dip fell short of his expectations. Dessert was apple crisp and gelato. It was my birthday and I was presented with a decorated tiramisu. I was very pleased with our experience.
