This is a wonderful place with excellent food. The restaurant is small so you have lots of care from your servers. The owner is often out and about and loves what he does.

The food at the Channel Bass Inn restaurant is always superb. I had steak and it is always cooked perfection. The potato soup was loaded with potatoes and cream. The shrimp cocktail and crab cake, appetizer or fabulous. The salad had a champagne vinaigrette that was perfect. Oh, and that all of cake was out of this world. The atmosphere in the service was impeccable.

This place is a hidden gem! We have had a condo in Chincoteague since 2018 and driven past many times but have never eaten here! Our loss! Very classy and the waiters were fantastic, friendly and genuinely enjoyed talking with the customers. Did not feel rushed. It's a great place to celebrate a special occasion. It was an enjoyable and memorable evening and we will definitely be back!!

As a huge fan of the Channel Bass Inn, it was incredible to be a part of their final tea party for their 2024 season. The food was amazing with great flavors. I highly recommend dining here on your next visit to Chincoteague.

A perfect Thanksgiving Dinner.! The most moist turkey I have ever eaten, with 4 other delicious courses accompanying it. Festive and relaxing. Wonderful!

Finally tried CBI last night and now have a new favorite restaurant on Chincoteague. The ambiance was polished and refined yet also relaxing and welcoming. It was a great value with five courses which were prepared exquisitely, and were as visually appealing as were delicious. We recalled the server from his time at another Island restaurant, who was super friendly, engaging, and attentive. Although there are several wonderful restaurants on the Island, CBI will now be our go to and recommended restaurant for date night, special occasions, or any time we look for a great dining experience.

This is the first negative review of a restaurant I have ever done but I felt the need to do so. When we arrived we were seated on a side porch even though there was plenty of room in the main dining room. The 3 servers working seemed to work as a team on the 5 tables in the dining room but somehow never bothered to come out to us for about 15 minutes. This was not a great start but would have been easily overlooked had the food been good. That was not the case at all. This is a fixed menu with a choice of protein for your main course. My wife and I both chose the seabass. Our fist course consisted of crab soup (best thing we ate) scallops that were so over cooked they were like eating a tire, and a piece of pork belly that was not rendered and covered in so much bbq sauce you couldn't taste the meat. The salad was fine but again not what you would expect at this price level. Our main course of seabass, rice, and brussel sprouts was terrible. The seabass was so overcooked you had to cut it with a knife, rice was dry and bland, and the brussel sprouts were undercooked and tasteless. The pairings on the plate made no sense and it ate that way. The female server who was with us the most was nice and attentive. In the end this is not a meal worth $75 a person. We spent $195 with tip and had to go out for food after we left.

Thanks for sharing your dining experience with us. This is an uncommon response and we are sorry for your dissatisfaction. Our server would have certainly corrected any issue you had with your food had you mentioned anything other than everything being fine when she asked. Same meal was a five-star review from several others who had the same menu so not sure what happened but we definitely would have corrected any issue if we had known about it. Warmest Regards
