   We've always had exceptional dining experiences at The Chart House, but Christmas dinner was not that. Our server seemed put-out that we were there and we received a basic level of service. They were out of many of the set menu options. Our salads came with onions when we asked that they be removed. We all ordered filets and we were served two filets and three other cuts of meat. The nicest part of the evening were the young hosts who were polite when they sat us and agreed to take a picture of our family on the way out. In summary, we will not be coming back for a Christmas dinner and The Chart House has moved down our list of preferred restaurants for where to celebrate occasions.

   Our reservation was for 645 on Christmas Day, and it was a fixed price menu with a nice mix of seafood and beef options. However, by the time we got there at 6:45, there were no fish options left. No salmon, or mahi-mahi or Seabass or anything. We had to have beef, mine came with a few shrimp,. Very disappointing that they did not have half the menu available, and it wasn’t that late. Also, our server was pretty low energy and there was a lot of time between servings, he explained the kitchen was really backed up. I expect better from a restaurant like this on a special occasion.

   I was surprised at how limited the entree selections were - 5 steak items, 4 fish/seafood selections and 1 pasta selection. With three hours remaining that evening, they had run out of 2 items and by the time we had finished 75 minutes later, they had run out of an additional 2 items. When it came time for dessert, there were 3 choices, but they had run out of one. Christmas has been on the calendar for 364 days, I would have thought that they would have been better prepared. Food was basically okay, but the Caesar Salad was served on a warm plate and was the least appetizing of any Caesar Salad I recall having eaten. I stopped short of finishing it, wanting to save room for a more appetizing main entree. The waitress was nice and very apologetic that they had run out of certain items so early. She was not looking forward to serving additional guests for the last three hours the restaurant would be open. Having looked for a special place to celebrate both Christmas and an anniversary, I was disappointed, thinking I could have found greater value for 60% of the cost. I don't plan to return again.

   This is the third time we’ve gone to the chart house on Christmas Day. I’m always impressed by how professional and upbeat the staff is, and I appreciate how they make the day feel special for us.

   We have been coming to this chart house for 30 years and almost always have a good experience. However, Christmas Day 2024 was not. They seemed to load the dining floor with more tables than usual and not enough staff to handle this type of restaurant service. The first thing our server did was apologize, stating that it would take longer because she was just seated with 4 new tables??? What??? We had to ask for everything, more water, plates to be cleared and after the adults were served dinner, we waited 10 minutes for my grandkid's meals, and they did not arrive. I finally asked only to be told that they forgot to make them. We had been sat at a table ear the floor around salad bar, terrible chaos there and very distracting. The ambience they usually have on Christmas day was nonexistent.

   An absolutely fabulous Christmas lunch - the food was delicious and Amanda our server was wonderful. Thank you for being open on Christmas Day!!

   Christmas Eve dinner. Great menu and service. I had the salmon and my wife the twin lobster tails. Very happy Charthouse is so close to us.

    The entire restaurant power went out during our dinner. Evidently this happens in Genesee at least once a month. they served our dinner in candlelight. Steak and Salmon were excellent, but potatoes were cold, no extra vegetables that we ordered, and no discount or apology. They ned to treat their customers better. Serving food in Candlelight, that had issues - and we mentioned them, but still charging the customer full price? Not right.
