   My friends took me to Chat Noir for my birthday because it is one of my favorite restaurants and as always the food, the ambiance and the service was excellent! We ordered the beef bourbuignon, the chicken pot pie and the goat cheese tart all of which were incredibly delicious finished off with the chocolate chip bread pudding complete with a candle and singing by the thoughtful staff. If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience then book a table at Chat Noir and let the feast begin.

   Very good French restaurant with excellent food. I tried the shepherds pie, which was the best that I’ve ever had anywhere. They also have a tea service where they provide a choice of maybe 50 teas and different cookies and dessert pieces.

   Disappointing first tea service for my young daughter. Very long wait for simple food, errors with serving our order, overcharged on our bill, no cream and jelly served with our tea service, and given used tea cups upon arrival. Despite a reservation, given the worst table next to the ever swinging kitchen door. Although concerns were voiced and an employee indicated she would talk to the manager, the manager never surfaced.

   I brought my daughter here for brunch in celebration of her birthday and it’s a great place to come for a special occasion. We started with a tea each and the most delicious scones I’ve ever had in my life. Seriously- do yourself a favor and order the scones. Then I had the croque madam sandwich (open faced) and she had a delicious pancake in a skillet. It is not cheap but we felt like we got what we paid for because it was that good. The staff was attentive and the atmosphere was perfect. We will be back!
