Che Fico, is a California Italian restaurant from Chefs David Nayfeld and Matt Brewer in San Francisco's NOPA neighborhood. The food focuses on Italian cuisine through the lens of California. It’s our vision of Northern California as if it is a region in Italy, our connection to the region, and our love for Italian culinary practices. The rustic, market-driven menu features handmade pasta, pizzas, antipasti, housemade salumi, meat, and fish plus dishes from the Jewish-Roman heritage known as “Cucina Ebraica.” The beverage program focuses heavily on both Italian and Californian wines with a cocktail program that utilizes a variety of spirits, amaros, and seasonal ingredients. Che Fico is a place to gather with friends and enjoy warm hospitality, food, and drink, through an approachable menu and convivial ambiance.

We had a fun brunch with our group of 6. It wasn't too crowded but felt like a fun lively ambience. Food was very good. We shared the brioche and French toast for a starter and they were a total treat! We loved the poached egg on latke and English muffin sandwich. The polenta breakfast item wasn't my fav.

3 of our main dishes were too salty. I have been to Italy on 6 trips and never encountered food this salty. Pizza crust was also undercooked and too soft - not like Roman pizza at all. The prices of secondi are very high so just be aware of this before dining here. On positive note, our server was very good and attentive. I also like the interior although the hard surfaces contribute to high noise levels.

We really enjoyed our dining experience here. Our server Wilfredo was so attentive and personable as well as rest of the staff. We ordered a Cesar salad that was very different than a traditional Cesar but quite refreshing. The same goes for the polenta and cauliflower . The nettle pizza was quite tasty too, large enough for two people. The ciabatta bread was served warm and crisp, it was so good. Overall we enjoyed everything including our cocktails. The only thing I would mention is if you are ordering from the ‘secondi’ menu, you will find it quite pricey. We would recommend Che FICO SF and will be dining here again.

After reading great reviews, it was disappointing. My pasta dish was too salty and bland flavors, another couple shared a pizza that was also too salty and had burnt crust that had to be cut off. The beet salad was good, the o the salad was just ok. Paid $95 for a $30 bottle of wine. No need to hurry back.

Great starters and desserts, decent wine by the glass. Pastas were only ok. Biggest issue is the cost.
