The food was amazing! 10/10. Had the chicken and mushroom vol au vent to start and then the fillet steak. I'm already looking forward to going back for another dater night again soon. The service was great also.

Second visit to this restaurant, and it was as good as the first. Starters of scotch egg, Burrata and vol au vent, followed by steak( cooked to perfection for me) and sea bass were loved by all at the table. Wait staff were lovely, checking to see if we were happy with everything ( chap with beard), sorry We did not get his name. I would highly recommend this restaurant and advice to book in advance.

Started with scallop appetizer and house salad then crab linguini and braised beef tortellini mains. Tortellini was the standout. Had the ice cream/sorbet for dessert and salted caramel ice cream and champagne sorbet were outstanding.

My husband and I ate here on our last night in Dublin and were so glad we did! It was a perfect evening! Fantastic food and service. My husband had the fillet and said it’s the best he has ever had in a restaurant. I had the Sea Bass special which had the best combination of flavors in the rice and sauces. We recommend this restaurant highly!

Had a lovely family dinner (5 people) in Chequer Lane to celebrate a milestone birthday. Was really impressed at great email correspondence beforehand (thank you Alex!) and the acknowledgment of my requests. Cocktails, food, wine were all very good. I had the scallops for mains and they were yummy. as were the garden greens I had as a side. The others all had steaks (2 fillets and 2 steak frites, all cooked as requested and everyone loved the chips! Service was spot on and friendly (thank you Bianca B), the overall ambience was nice and buzzy, even on a Tuesday night. This was not my first time at Chequer Lane and for sure I will be back, I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a bistro style restaurant with a good and varied menu. Of course it is not 'cheap' (nowhere in Dublin is), it worked out about €100/head (inc tip) but we did all have cocktails, 2 bottles of wine, fillet steaks etc which were probably the most expensive items on the menu so you could certainly have a pretty good meal for much less per head.

Good service, I found my dish was expensive for what I got and it was rather bland with very little lobster in the linguini
