Bienvenue Chez Max!

Savory aromas drift from the kitchen as one enters the front door, giving a hint of culinary delights to come. The casual and comfortable, yet elegant interior of the restaurant is warm and inviting. A large stone fireplace adorns a corner in the main dining room, casting a soft glow around the room.

We are Richmond’s premier French dining experience. Our menu is a collection of dishes cultivated by a Master French chef. We offer an array of fine wines from around the world, 23 are poured by the glass. Our mixologist boasts an impressive range of signature crafted cocktails and guest favorites.

As we are often fully seated on Fridays and Saturdays, we can only hold a reservation for 15 minutes without advanced notice. We allocate 2 hours for parties of 2 to 5, 2 ½ hours for parties of 6 or more.

                                                                        We have eaten at Chex Max many times and will do so again. The food and service is excellent. We had soft shell crabs last night and they were excellent. Great wine selection. I highly recommend this for a special occasion on any time.

                                                                        We had a wonderful French dinner this past Saturday. There was a good bit of activity past Saturday but it was all people enjoying themselves. We chose the special fish which was excellent, split a salad - delicious, a bottle of French wine - excellent and sorbet - fruit flavors. We like to visit here everytime that we visit Richmond. We cook at home most of the time but this was a dinner that we couldn't make. He Chose - WISELY.

                                                                        We always have a wonderful time at Chez Max. We were pleasantly surprised by the half off bottles of wine on Sundays. The food was fabulous and the service is always amazing. This is a hidden gem that we are glad that we found. We plan to visit often.

                                                                        Both of our hot tea starting drinks were lukewarm. Soups were great...crab soup, french onion soup. Dinner entrees were terrific...salmon and veal chop. Potatoes au gratin needed some more flavor. Sorbet and creme brulet for dessert were wonderful. Thanks, we'll be back.
