We were excited to try out this new Peruvian restaurant. But don’t bother making a reservation. Upon arriving for our dinner reservation the host told us that “We are not honoring reservations. We are too busy,” then said, “next in line.” We were seated 45 minutes past our reservation time.

All around great night downtown at Chicha’s Peruvian Kitchen & Cafe nicely decorated for Valentine’s Day. There was a line of people that were quickly seated. Not sure if that is the situation every weekend. Thanks to Open Table we had a reservation! Many filled tables but still felt intimate due to separate rooms/areas. Also nice light and bright separate bar area where we plan to stop by for a future happy hour. Musician walking around and playing Spanish guitar was a great and unobtrusive romantic touch. And the food! Lovely small hot bread buns with butter to start. We had the sampler platter with chicken and steak. Also the chicharron de pollo appy was crispy and delicious. Please try all the sauces - chimichurri and aoli are my faves - so good and true to Peruvian style and spices. We took some to go with our leftovers. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious - even on an extremely busy night. We will be back to try all the ceviches. People around us were very happy with them. People have obviously found this place so reservations are recommended! We will he back!

Service was not good. They completely forget about you. Food was sub par. I had to ask three times to get our check. They brought my food out and then brought my wife’s food out 20 min later. It’s supposed to be Valentine’s Day. Horrible overall! Thanks for nothing! Will never be back!

The service was great, and we enjoyed the live music. The food was a miss for us. The pork belly appetizer was good, although we expected a bit more for the price. The Pork Tamal was moist & very good. We each ordered Lomo Saltado & felt the steak was overcooked, and there was very little soy sauce used.

We were there for lunch on a quiet Sunday. All four members of our party were very satisfied with our meals, the variety of the menu, and the service. It was a delightful lunch.

Not great. A lot of money for below average tasting food.

Great first experience and we’re looking forward to it after recently visiting Peru. Took a bit to be seated but food came quickly and well presented. The wait staff is still a little rough but very pleasant and helpful. My drink order was incorrect but not worth reordering. Ceviche Pimental was very good, lomo Saltado was good and the Pollo pachamanquero was absolutely outstanding. Bread pudding had good flavor and was more cake-like than a true bread pudding. Our table was very cold near the door but it was busy and lively. Enjoyed the live musician. A great place for groups to share dishes. We’ll be a repeat customer!

Really, pleasantly surprised. Exactly what we were hoping for, fantastic cerviche. Their cerviche plates could serve three people, easily… and all under $22??? Medium+ spice level was just enough to make the bridge of your nose sweat. Great tasting Peruvian food. Will be back monthly.
