We were celebrating a birthday and decided what better place than ChouChou !! We were not disappointed. Our waiter was perfect in every way. Attentive, but not intrusive, professional but friendly. We ordered from the Prix Fixe menu, which is a very good value. We started with the Charcuterie plate to enjoy with our champagne, then shared the beet salad. Our entrees were the rack of lamb and the Fruit de Mer mix, which was a mix of grilled prawns, salmon and Ahi tuna. It was served with a delicious cauliflower risotto with butternut squash. My goodness, it was a wonderful inclusion. Dessert included molten chocolate cake and lemon sorbet. All in all, a perfect dinner. Corkage is $35. The restaurant was very quite this night as there were not many diners on a Thursday evening. I encourage anyone reading this review to be sure to make a reservation and show this restaurant the attention it deserves. We will certainly be back.

This was such a good restaurant. Everything we ordered was amazing. The service was amazing. We had the side of brussel sprouts, the baked Brie, the salmon, and opera cake for dessert. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I'm a huge fan of French cuisine but our food wasn't that impressive. Overall, it was an OK experience, which is regretful as I was excited about having a good French restaurant in the hood.

What looked at first like a charming evocation of a french bistro with pleasant folks and service was quickly dampened by the food. The onion soup, while the broth was tasty was far from the usual concept with little cheese and a small crouton and no cheese dripping along the sides of the bowl. The grilled artichoke was undercooked and tasteless. But the crowning moment was the supposed lobster ravioli . . . the pasta was thick and dense, Not light as it should be. The lobster was pureed and evaded recognition but the worst was the uneven temperature of the food . . . cold in one bite, warm in another . . . seeming as if it had been heated in a microwave. Thankfully we were given a free desert and the cost of the ravioli was wiped from the bill after we complained. A very nice touch indeed but it could make up for a very poor meal. We will not return. Thank you.

Service was excellent. They were attentive, charming, and helped make my wife’s birthday dinner special. The food was delicious; the lobster ravioli and salmon en croute were especially good. And of course the crème brûlée was excellent. Great place for a special night with a special someone. The price was very reasonable for the food and experience, would absolutely go again.

Amazing service in a newly redone location on Primrose in Burlingame. The food, while typically French, had some interesting twists - mussels with chorizo, duck confit en croute. And the bread pudding was amazing ! As it was very sweet our waiter kindly brought a wonderful lemon sorbet at no charge.

We were looked after very well at ChouChou and the meal was excellent! We all loved our first courses - baked brie en croute, crab salad and clam chowder. Followed by Lobster Ravioli, Beef Bourgignon and Salmon with corn risotto. All quite delicious! For dessert, a Chocolate Lava Cake and a Crêpe with mascarpone pistachio cream and I asked for the whiskey sauce instead of the chocolate sauce on it, which they very kindly substituted for me. Oh, and one of our party also ordered a side of fries which we shared. They came with two sauces - ketchup and a very good aioli. There were some fries left over which were boxed for us and they even included some additional aioli which was much appreciated and I enjoyed them reheated with lunch today.

The service was excellent, but the food was disappointing. We ordered calamari, which tasted great. However, it came with only five pieces of calamari, some shrimp, two pieces of fried lemon, and a lot of fried onion. For $19, we expected more calamari. The short rib was tough and not tender. It could have been more tender by being baked in the oven for an extra hour and tenderizing. On the positive side, the duck Wellington was delicious and tender. It was well-seasoned. The servers were great. They brought us a creme brûlée to celebrate our anniversary.
