We knew going in this was a new restaurant (3rd week), but the 10 reviews were all 5 stars and the menu looked good. Not easy to find this kind of place in/near a small town, so we tried it. Lots of kinks to work out. Server was very sweet but admitted this was a new role for her and wasn’t very attentive. Our appetizer went to table next to us who sat down after us and ordered the same thing. We finally got ours and then main course and were paid and leaving while that couple waited for their main dishes. My wife’s steak was ordered medium well and served medium rare. It and greens very salty. My pork chop was very tasty but 20% fat. The ambience was cool. The musician was very good. The owner was clearly involved (took our drink order and checked with us twice). We’re going to give it a few weeks and try again and hope it succeeds.

Hidden Gem, very cute place in Hempstead TX, exactly what this town needed. Drinks were wonderful, food was delicious. Had a cinnamon roll for dessert and it was sinful. Can't wait to go back!!

New restaurant with very nice decor. The manager and owner were visiting tables- very welcoming. Our food was delicious, the only negative was the portion size of the halibut, it was beautifully presented, but small. Overall, a great addition to the area, we will definitely return!

One of the best restaurants in Hempstead. It is slightly upscale for dinner but breakfast and lunch are definitely casual. The management and servers are awesome. Ask for Breanna.

Our experience was absolutely amazing. The Operations Manager, Paul, the Owner, Kenneth, and the General Manager, Drago, all made a point to visit our table, personally engaging with us, offering recommendations, and gathering our feedback. Their attentiveness truly elevated the experience. Our waitress, Breana, was equally fantastic—attentive, friendly, and made us feel so welcome. We ordered the cheese dip appetizer, the filet, the crème brûlée, and the mac and cheese—every dish was outstanding. As frequent diners at Killen’s Steakhouse, we have high expectations, and this experience exceeded them. From the exceptional food to the warm hospitality, everything was top-notch. We’ll definitely be back! Next on the list of things to try- the pork chop!

The food and service were wonderful. My hamburger steak was a little undercooked for hamburger, but I didn't send it back. Portions were nice. Margarita was wonderful. Went back Wed am for scone and blueberry muffin. Scone was a little dry for my liking, but still good. Muffin was incredibly yummy. I'll be back!
